Hey Folks.
Ihave this 753 for a coupel years now. I rescued it form a neighbor whos husband passed away. I was in about 200 peices when I got it..
I have the blade as shown, but I also have the 36" mower deck as well.
I'm really loking for a repalcement tank for this 753. it been coated numerous times and yet it still seeps. I dont have to worry about stale gas...
I know some of the older models used a one peice design Vs the two peice... I'm getting real close to mounting a separate tank under the seat or somewhere else just so I don't have to worry about the leaking....

Marcsmith,
Welcome!
Who makes the 753, Toro or Wheel Horse? What year is it? Nice looking. Any restoration pics?

Back in the day it was made by Wheelhorse, which is now owned by Toro who still uses the wheel horse name I believe.
It was nice when I rewired the entire tractor I think I only used about 8 feet of actual wire. You can't do that on today's machines....

Marc- nice machine and welcome! If you do the separate tank, won't you need a fuel pump?

Have you tried getting a new tank from a Wheelhorse dealer? some of these old machines are still supported by the manufacturers. The only Wheelhorse tank I found on Ebay today is attached below, but I don't think it fits yours:

You might scan Ebay for a few guys that specialize in Wheelhorse tractors and send them an e-mail asking if they have a tank.

Hi Marc! I'd advise you to keep it as original as possible. Your 753 is a collectable "round-nose" WH. I'd suggest getting the gasket kit for the two piece gas tank, (available frequently on eBay). *Don't* damage the steering wheel trying to remove it, in order to remove the tank.
753 FYI,
7-means 7hp, most likely a Kohler 7hp.
5-means electric start.
3-means its a 1963.
You really, really wanna keep it as original as possible. If you need specific info, the hard-core WH guys can be found at Yahoo-groups.
Welcome aboard! :eck34:
