Well been searching for years, just like to keep it out there.....

If anyone runs across a OLD Homelite tractor,[late 50's early 60's] Think of me! :D

They were made by Bready back then, and I had one as a kid, and want another. Lets just call it the holy grail of my collection. :D

Here is what they look like...... They were blue in 59, and red in later years.[mine was blue, but I can deal with red] Thanks for the help!

[BTW this is just a pic I found on the web]

Neat looking tractor Paul. Looks like the gear box is in the middle. I'll keep my eyes open. I check craigslist ever day around here for stuff.

Cute little thing. What size engines did they have? slkpk

Ingersoll444

They were 6hp Briggs. Had a belt from the engine to the 3speed trans, that I have heard came from a old Crosley. A big chain carryed the power from the tranny output, to the rear axle. Realy tough little tractor.

Story of my life.. Nice price, but half way across the country from me, and right before Christmass when money is the tightest. :(

Ingersoll444 I know what you are saying about tight finances and am never one for wastage but do keep your eyes open far and wide. These things have a way of getting home once you own it.
Cancelling cable TV for 6 months would ship that little tractor pretty close to you (maybe?). I watch Uship regularily and though not familiar with your area I am often surprised at how reasonable people get stuff moved around.

I had a 448 shipped from Conneticut to rural canada for less then it would have cost me to drive a small car one way!

I only say so selfishly because I think it might cause you to kick loose some Case stuff/parts to finance it. LOL

The pic isn't showing up in your original post! Could you find another pic so I know what to look for? Or "NOT look for", as that is when you generally find what you want, after you are no longer looking! lol

I have a note book of things I look for when I go junking and spend time on line. I added your HL to the list. The title of your post made me laugh. I wanted to say to you that I am sorry your tractor ran away. Hope you find it. I know it is so much fun to go back and find things now that we had as kids. I do it all the time. I now have my Mate shoot and shell gungs back. The shot real plastic bullets. They made a rifel, six shooter and a belt buckle with a danger that popted out and shot a bullet. I just found an old crystal radio I had when I was 8 or 9. Oh, those were good years full of care free fun. I will keep an eye out for your toy.

Is this what you are looking for? Or are you looking for someting older?

Nope. Older then that.

I figured you were looking for something older. If the HomeLite tractors were like thier old chain saws it was one hell of a tractro. I have had a HL chain saw for 35 years and it still runs great. I have replaced parts but what a saw. I will keep looking. I am going on a long road trip next month. I will be gone for 3 months. If I find one I will pick it up. I pull a trailer behind the moter home. I need something to haul the junk I find. There must be one out there somewhere. We are going west up the coast back across Canada and down the east coast back to Indiana. I will be going close to your place on the way back. I take all the back roads when I can. I know many antique dealers along the way. I am a junky. My wife would kill me if I were a tractor junkie. LOL I just got a nother Farmall in good shape. That makes 7 tractors. My son is going to the the Farmall.
