I have a gear driven Harmony 2013 that needs a new drive belt. Does anyone know the dimensions or if Gates makes one that will work? I'm trying to avoid paying 40-something bucks for a genuine Honda belt, if possible. Thank you, Pete

On my 5518 I got bent over several times by the Honda dealer. A friend of mine who is a small engine mechanic tried unsuccessfully to try and reference Honda part #'s to the major makers of belts. The front PTO on the 5518 was over $ 100. :thSick:

I ended up taking the belt to a local bearing shop and they measured it and got a belt that should be the same. Cost was $ 17.

I sold the tractor and never did get to try the belt though.

Hope this helps.

I really wondered if the pricey Honda belts were worth it. When the front PTO belt on the RT5000 let loose, I took it to NAPA and got a replacement with no Honda part numbers required. Simply measured what was broken and $26.00 for a new belt that is still in use year around .
