My friend is looking at a Massey 1655. Series 2378. It has a 20 horsepower Onan engine on it and 478 hours.

Any idea what year this was made?

It also comes with a mower deck, tiller, and snowblower.

Asking price is $1500.00

Something tells me it didn't come with a 20hp engine but I'm far from an expert.

It also has front, mid, and rear PTO shafts, pretty impressive.

Thanks, Jeeps

That vintage was made by Snapper and they sold the same model under their own name. Very robust machine, compareable with the Deere 300 series at the time.

I've got an 1855MF, the 1655&1855 where the same machines except the decal& motor. 1655 had the B43 Onan, the 1855 had the B48 Onan rated at 16&18hp. A 48" or 54"mmm was available. Mine has been a warhorse, even got a back-hoe for it. They were built by Snapper and unfortunetly most parts for them have been discontinued. I've got over 2500hrs on mine so I'd say that 1655 should have plenty of life left in it. I do have the MF shop manuel and parts book for the 1655/1855.
