I have the chance to buy a 218 in great shape with a 48" mower deck and a ingersol snow blower for $1500. Is this a good buy? I'm a Cub Cadet guy and not a Massey guy. ANy help is appreciated. BTW. I think it has between 800 and 900 hours.

I am sorry that I can not help you out on the Massey you are looking at. All my Masseys are the 10 and 12 models built late 60's and early 70's. Hopefully someone here will be able to help you out.

I'm not able to help much either. Any idea what year approx. it was made? For the last several years, they have been built by Simplicity, so that's another source of parts, attachments etc.

318GTX is an Ingersoll 3xxx tractor with Massey paint.
not sure if the 218 was from the same source.

I think the 218 was made by Ingersol too. For a period of time they made all of MF's garden tractors. I've got three of the later models made by Snapper for MF, tough machines, my 1972 MF1650 w/48" mmm is my main mower.
