Does anyone have any info on this tractor ie spec etc. I found one with a blower, tiller and mower deck and a spare Kohler engine.

Thanks

Woohoo

Just bought the whole thing for $300.00Cdn. I'm picking it up tomorrow after lunch.. Still have no idea what or how big it is hp wise, but I think it may be a good loader tractor... well hopefully anyway.
There will be pics by thurs..

WooHoo, Congrats on your new (old) tractor.
Does yours look like the one in my Avatar? If so I can probably help you out as I have 3 of these right now. The first thing is to find the model #, which should be on the bottom of the front cowling, left side. I can find out what year it is from the #.
If it still has the orig. engine it should be a Kohler K-321, which is 14hp and should have electronic ign. - no points to worry about!
$300 sounds like a great deal if its in decent shape.
Let me know.

So I got the old Girl home today.

It is gonna need some tlc to be sure (Pics to follow) but here is the 411 on it.

It is a Super Chief 1450 Hydro (so says the stickers on the hood), appears to have an original Kohler in it. 38" (I believe) 2 stage blower, 48" 3 blade deck, and it appears to be a 40" tiller. There is not alot of oil leaks on the engine and it turns over Ok. All the rotating stuff like the spindles turn ok and have no play in them. The tiller and blower all seem to turn OK just need to get a good cleaning and paint as well as new chain for all the drives on them, the blower discharge chute is missing though. The engine cowl is rusted up pretty good but there appears to be no dents even in the fenders. The brakes and everything seem ok as well the tractor can be moved by hand.

I probably should have tried a little harder to get it for less than 300 but I am happy. It should be quite the GT when it is completed, the only thing that suprised me is it has 3 bolt hubs on the back, nothing to worry abt I don't think anyways as it has survived all these years OK.

Jakeman, I'll definately be talking to you abt some parts I think. Wish I had some manuals so I could tell what I am missing if anything.

FIrst thing this weekend is to see if I can get the old Kohler to fire up then go from there. Hiopefully I will have some pics by the weekend

hey, just bought one here to!! just got her home today. spent $150 on it, and it came with a snow plow, in great shape!! runs really well...my pic does not do it justice. she looks better in person. heavy freakin tractor to push up on my truck!! very solid units.
my question is, are the decks hard to take off, and is the plow easy to install!!
mines the hydro, with hydro lift.

Congrats Billalex - looks like you got a steal! I have 2 of these running and a third for parts. The deck is easy to take off.
Here's how I do it:
I slide the belt off the idler pulley on the deck (lifting the deck with one hand sometimes helps) and pull the pin from the pto - this pin should be spring loaded and you simply pull it out to disengage it, oh yeah you'll probably have to disconnect the pto wire plug too so you can remove the belt from that pulley.
Then I undo the lift connection. Usually this is a hitch pin holding the lift hook on - yours may be different with the elec. lift (not a hydro lift).
There should be 2 hitch pins near the front axle, these hold the quick connect latch in place. Once removed you should be able to pivot the latch and the front of the deck will be disconnected. I've also seen roll pins used in place of hitch pins.
If you pull the deck forward the back end of the quick hitch will drop out from where it fits into the frame.
Then its just a matter of working the deck out from under the tractor. I turn the front wheels to make more room to wiggle it out.
You don't have to do it in this order, this is just the way I do it. It may sound like a pain but it only takes me about 10 min. to do it.

Now the plow is a different story. If you have the same orig. angle plow I have, getting the plow wiggled under the tractor either involves taking the angle adjuster arm off or raising one front wheel high enough to slide the arm under. I usually lift one wheel to get it under. The rest is pretty straight forward - hopefully you have all the hardware.
Good luck with your new - old tractor!
