stanelyjohn: Sorry to hear about your cat. I have an old dog who everyone can't believe he's still here. You can get attached to those animals. My wife has 3 cats that she dearly loves... I know she talks to them more than me. Sorry for your loss.

:ditto: on what everybody said stanleyjohn, I was lucky enough to make friends with a stray kitten at my shop. He couldn't of been more than a month old(I'm guessing). I't took awhile for him to come up to me, but I feed 'em everyday and eventually he came up to me to pet him. I tought 'em to speak(meow), sit, and to stand up by command for treats. That was 2 years ago, he stayed in my shop, but I think nature called, and something happened to him, I haven't seen him since. I named him Toonces(he looked just like the cat on the old Saturday Nite Live show.(the cat that could drive).
I'm always looking for 'em to show back up... sorry to hear you had to do what you had to do... Tony

I'm a total cat guy and I know exactly how you feel! My 17yo Shadow has been my constant companion since I picked her out of a cedar tree one night. I cannot bear to think of her passing though I have 3 others...
I have this theory though about cats... When one passes they seem to find a suitable replacement kitten, endow it with an unmistakable certain trait you can't miss and then tell the little one how to find you.
After awhile when it's time they just show up in your life. Right now I'm waiting for a certain special kitten sent by my late Marmalade...
How do cats get so deep into a man's heart... I don't know but I wouldn't trade the "cat experience" for any other...
StanleyJohn I grieve with you.

Sorry for your loss, SJ. I know how deeply our love for our pets can get. It's heartbreaking when they leave us.

That's a cute kitty, and I'm sorry you had to lose him. We had to put down our chocolate lab a few years ago, and we all cried like babies. In fact, my wife and I still get teary-eyed sometimes when we talk about her.
The only thing that helps is the passage of time. My condolences to you.

We are sorry to hear that you lost a good friend, when I lost my dog Ozzy it hit me realy hard. I never thought an animal's passing could hurt a man like that. There is a time when they are not just a pet any more they become a part of the family. Remember the good times you had together and yes pets do go to heaven and you will find them there waiting for you.:i_praying

sorry to hear about your sneakers SJ, 16 years is a long time...
Its strange... they start off as a pet, then become a companion and eventually become a big part of your life...
its tough to lose a friend of 16 years...
you can take solace in the fact you provided him with a good and long life...
sorry...

Sorry to hear. I have an old dog..."Nubbie" that has cancer & the growth hangs down from her chest, bout the size of a tennis ball. Doc said he could remove it, but if she was happy he recommended letting it go as surgery wouldn't prolong her life as the cancer is all through her. She's happy, so just letting it slide. When she starts getting miserable I'm gonna have to say goodbye too. Had her for about 10yrs.

Too bad. Dag gone it - pets get to be just like one of the clan and when they go, it's really tough. Don't worry about ole "Sneakers" though. He's probably met up with "simple john's" "Cass" and my "Scruffy" and they're all running around raising cain.

This is always the down side of pets. But how would we get along without them?
