View Full Version : Have 3 Point Hitch ... must spend money

I finally broke down and got a Cat "0" 3 point hitch for the Legacy. The phantom money I no longer have is burning a whole in my empty pocket. Now where are all those ground engaging accessories I've been so lusting after? Specifically, I'm looking for a rear blade scraper. Is there a good outlet out there for someone who has just spent his wad of cash?
P.S. My bid for a new Simplicity corporate slogan: "You'll worship the ground it drags on."

Check out our sponcers, such as: http://www.thesmartfarmer.com/, and also any brand garden tractor dealer will have Agrifab, or Brinly equipment as well as Northern Tools http://www.northerntool.com/?storeId=6970&langId=%2D1&cm_ven=PPC&cm_cat=Performics&cm_pla=Overture&cm_ite=Overture and even Sears....
I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with Agri-Fab or Brinly equipment for homeowner use, but after looking at them, if you decide you need heavier duty stuff, one brand I'd recommend is "Landpride", and there are others as good if not better. More like commercial quality tools, (of course they are more expensive also).

The only downfall to landpride is that (as far as I know) do not make much category 0 implements only cat 1 and 2. Is this right about landpride or am I mistaken?

You will have to manually try some of these attachments out - I see Box scrappers on Cat O 3 pt's all the time....sometimes the arms cant extended wide enough out, but you can reverse the attachments pins to the inside and be good to go, just as long as the height is high enough to clear the ground.
Now is this the Legacy 4wd model ? I thought they offered a Cat 1 setup?

We also carry the Howes line and it's great for the package deals but even at 50 yards you can see the difference, I just brought back 6, 6' LP cutters today from our parent !! THEY SELL and so do the finish mowers!!

When I worked for the local dealer here they could (and still cant) sell a piece of Landpride away. I have always like the landpride line but they also sell the rhino line and they sell the heck out of it. I looked at both lines and then decided to stick with the Leinbach Line out of NC, their stuff is very high quality products and alot cheaper than the others. It has proven to be a top seller for me.

You're right, BUT... apparantly they had a major overhaul of the Legacy line around 2004-2005. I have the 2003 model. The Simplicity guy I talked to says there's a world of difference between the Legacy and the Legacy XL ... especially beware of ordering parts for a XL when you have a Legacy.
P.S. I sent in a email request for info, and this real live person from Simplicity called me. A real person! I couldn't get over it. I wish more manufacturers got the message that quality is more than gears, bearings, and shiny metal parts.

The Legacy is a 2003 model. The Simplicity guys state this is very different from the XL model currently in production. Apparantly, the line went through a complete redesign in 2004 or 2005. He was also specific about the Legacy using a Cat "0" 3-PH. This hitch is rated for 450# lift capacity.
By the way, I submitted an email question to Simplicity about the hitch, and rather than give me a curt email response, this real live person called me back. It was nice having a knowledgeable person, inside the factory doors telling me the straight skinny. I was pleased to hear that some manufacturers know that quality is more than metal parts.
And now, as I show just how uninformed I am, are there any concerns about matching impliments to this hitch other than the weight issue?

Try Kolpin/Dirtworks ATV Implements:
Kolpin/Dirtworks series.
They have a Cat. o 3-point hitch and Implements that secures to an ATV's, UTV's or Garden Tractor's, or just about anything using a 2" x 2" automotive style receiver hitch. They offer (2) different styles, one for ATV's, and one for larger Garden Tractors and UTV's
Call Kolpin or Cabelas for pricing, what they list on line is higher than what you can get them at Cabelas or direct from Kolpin.
I have one, works great!
