Nice machine!!! 4WD by the way it looks too.
What is the thing in front middle? Some type of lift?
That little pick-up just had enough room and was squatting a little, but got it home without any problems, by the looks of it.

I saw one once while visiting my mother inlaw in Maine, it had a snow blower hooked up to the front end. It didn`t look as good as the one your friend bought. what size is the mower deck???

Yes, FWD and AWS.
Front PTO I think.
Yeah, the truck didn't have an inch to spare. LOL

I'm not sure. I plan on heading over this weekend to check it out. I'll let you know.

It's a 52" deck. It is HEAVY; it weighs about 150 lbs.

I remember looking at these when I bought a dirt bike years ago. They are fine machines, especially with rear steering.
Looks like a very clean unit!:fing32:

Thanks, Styx & munderhill!
I have a question; what defines the difference between a LAWN tractor & a COMPACT tractor?

Does anyone have suggestions for filling the tires? I have an idea, but maybe there's an actual kit/part that would work better....?

That machine is beautiful. Brings a tear to my eye, and makes me green with envy at the same time. Enjoy!

Well the difference between a Lawn tractor and Garden tractor is the Garden tractor can handle ground engaging attachments (plows, cultivator, box scraper, etc). Your Honda I would consider a Sub-C.U.T. (Compact utility tractor) based on its size (bigger than a Garden tractor yet smaller than a C.U.T.) and the front and rear PTO, 4WD and FEL option. It's one serious machine.:eck21: Yes, I'm green with envy. LOL

I have had a Honda 5518 4-wheel drive tractor for roughly 13 years now. Sweet little tractor with articulated turning that I use for snowblowing and mowing trails through the woods. My blower is about worn out and I am not sure it can be fixed. The local Honda shop told me some of the parts that are needed are no longer available. This tractor is not sold in the U.S. anymore.
I am wondering if anyone else has found a source of a front mounted snowblower that works on the 5518 and that parts are still available. My tractor has been garaged and well-taken care of so it is in mint condition. I really do not want replace this amazing little tractor as it is just the right size for all the jobs I need to do on our Preserve. Sure hope someone out there has some information. Thanks.

If anyone is aware of a good condition snow blower for the 5518, I'd like to see about one...

The link below has a reputation for being quite proud of their listed inventory. Funny but the asking prices are not too far from ebay "Sell For" prices. You have to remember that they do have a hold on the market as the only store buying and selling these little work horses.
http://www.formulah.com/tractors.php
The snowblower you want will work on the RT5000, RT5013 and the 5518. Timing is the trick, too bad but there are no blowers presently available unless you want to fork out the cash for a 5518 with a blower. I think it would be worth a call to see if they would sell the blower seperately or have a blower coming up for sale.
I have no experience with the 5518's, but the RT5000 is a little brute and I would entertain looking at a 5518 if it ever dies.
Whenever someone chimes in with a request for a used GT for their yard, no one ever pipes up with a Honda recommendation. The parts are a little pricey but the good thing is that you rarely ever need them...
Click on the item you are interested in and the asking price is listed as well as a history of what they claim to have repaired.
One complaint that I have read in this forum is that they do not do a good job of cleaning up items that they have for sale. I check this site out every now and then to keep track of what they have for sale. The mounted new AG tires have been for sale for a year or so at $950. Maybe they would take a lower offer...

You might have some luck at www.mayberrys.com as they have been long time Honda Outdoor power eq. dealers. They are in north west NJ.

Thanks for the leads. Just wondering if folks have been successful in getting parts for the 5518 blower, like a worm gear unit? Honda here in Homer tells me this part is not available.

200175581584 is the item number of a Honda tractor snow blower currently on eBay. Don't know if it is what you want, and it's in NJ. You could ask if the seller would strip out what you want and ship it to you.

I've heard that the Honda 4wd 4ws tractor is an engineering marvel and was very expensive off the dealer floor, but have never seen one up close. Sure looks like one boss machine. I'm green with envy.

I would say, yes, they are an engineering marvel. A basic model new went for around $10,000.00. Some of the decked out models with hydro bucket, tiller, & snow blower went for upwards of $20,000.00.

You might want to try a kubota blower and keep your mounts. I think this is the same blower as the honda. Then just change the input from the bottom of the blower to the top of the blower.

I almost bought one of those Hondas new but the dealer was a you know what so I went with a new Ingersoll 4120 instead. Those Hondas are a real nice machine I rember first seeing them at the Big E.To bad they stoped making them.I came real close to buying one but he said one thing one day and another the next when I brought the check book.

Yeah, I think I was in love with those Hondas when they first came out. I think I still have the sales brochure stashed away somewhere.

This one (http://burlington.craigslist.org/grd/534544314.html) has been tempting me for the past few weeks. I have no real use for a tractor this capable, but I'm a fan of Honda automobiles and I feel sorry for the tractor line. :sad_02:
CHDinCT, here's that brochure. (http://bellsouthpwp.net/t/i/tinytractor/5518B/index.html)
I'm told these tractors perform very well, but that some of the attachments are less than stellar. To make things worse, no other brand of attachments hook-up without considerable fab work. Something about the Honda engines turning the wrong way complicates matters. (?)

The lack of parts support and the lack of available used attachments on the market are why I wouldn't recommend a Honda tractor. Good machines, but they are pretty much orphans.

The Hondas may be orphans, the parts are hard to find and are expensive but in my opinion they are worth it.
I bought a 5518 last month and I will be picking up a 5013 next week. If anybody know where I can find a 3-point hitch please email me. I have started a new group just for the Honda tractors at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hondatractors/.

make sure you put tubes in your tires to keep the cloride from leaking out and rusting your rims

I have added another Honda to my collection. I just finished with a NEW IN THE BOX 16HP motor in a H5013. The photo show 2 of my Hondas, my Cub Cadet 1861 and my Yanmar 180D.

I have a 5518 with no attachments (other than the loader), ag tires, and an extra set of turf tires. It does not look as good as yours(it looks fair), but it looked that way when I got it. Can anyone tell me a value of this?
Thanks
