well i stopped by my dealer today...
(ok, ok.. so i dropped my tractor off to have him check out the spindle/bearings and see if anything needed adjusting ect - i know, i know.. dont even say it :bonk:)
Anyway we were talking about machines.. The new prestiges have 23 HP motors.. which i thought would be nice to have the extra HP
according to him.. they are basically the same as the 20's with a different cam & Carb??
we were talking about the legacy's and i said its too bad they are so much $$$ as compared to the kubotas...
he said they are trying to push them out - 'feeling the pinch from the L series at Home depot'
he said he could do a legacy 4WD w/deck for 9200$... without the loader
that seems pretty fair for a 4WD.. (non diesel)
i inquired about my trade in value: he said 5K which is pretty much what i paid for it.. i think it was 5600$ 3 years ago.. im, not sure if he meant with the snow thrower too..
and of course nothing i have for the prestige would fit the legacy.. its a different frame size..
unfortunately, i have no money.. and want to buy a car.. so i dont think its in my future.. but wow thats not a bad price for a legacy 4WD made in US tractor...

Pricing the Legacy XL...
I got my Legacy XL Diesel 4WD w/ 60" deck, and 60" Hydraulic Blade w/ down force option for about $11,500. The Blade was $875 of that, and the Deck was $1,200. This means the machine w/diesel, 4WD, & 3pt was about $9,425. I also looked at the Kubota GR2100, but IT was less tractor for slightly less money. The Kubota is a great lawn machine, but can't run any 3-pt attachments. I can't see where people say the Simplicity is overpriced compared to the Kubota, (or Deere for that matter). For comparable machines, I think I got a great deal. I wouldn't change if I had the option to.

So the correct amount is really 10600 GAS or 11600 diesel right.

I can't see where people say the Simplicity is overpriced compared to the Kubota Mark

Simple John your Simplicity dealer won`t have to worry about the L series from Home Depot. HD is dropping them :omg: because Lowe`s will be selling them next year. The Depot may pick up the Cub cadet line from Lowe`s. ROF Talk about musical chairs. :hide:

I heard that rumor to, but I was talking to the manager of the local HD here and he stated that JD still has a contract with HD for the next 2 years and JD is NOT being dropped.
The question I have is where did you hear the rumor from someone from HD or on the other forums?
Yes it is true that Lowe's will be selling them but also the dealer and Home Depot for next year. What I understand is JD wants more outlets to sell the 100 series and this does it.

Michael The other forum, the poster said his friend is a manager at a HD. Yeah I though it was strange that the Depot would drop the L series, it`s a money maker for them. Strange thing where I live the local HD is in one Mall about a mile down the road Lowe`s is building a new store. Lots of new home going up and condo`s as well. Don`t know if that`s the reason for them being so close? I try and stay away from HD don`t care for the way they sell L&G equipment. Needed a small hand vacuum I went to look at and buy a Echo shred-n-vac, it was in a unopen box I asked what if it does run the way it`s suppose to, I was told that I`d have to take it to a Echo dealer for repairs. I just bought something brand new and you won`t exchange it for one that works, NO, that`s why Echo has a repair service centers. I asked the manager to hold the box and walked out of the store. I went to a local Lawn repair shop that sells Echo and got the same thing for $10.00 less. I`ll support the local business, better for both of us.

we dont have lowes up my way... but they are building one now... it is less than 1/4 mile from a home depot. i cant see the need for both places... and so close... personally, i love the local home depot, they have great service... but i go at 6:30-7:00 am and its never crowded and the service is great....

We only had HD here too. Then Lowes moved in. Great store and all of a sudden the service at HD jumped dramatically (don't forget, this IS New Jersey). They also remodeled the stores to catch up to Lowes. I find Lowes to have better selection and pricing for the most part, although I shop in both.
Competition is a good thing!!!!! :fing32:
