Wow... I am lost. We recently started a County Tractor Club... and a gentlelman called one of the members today and gave the club.... a Massey Ferguson 1010.:thThumbsU
Now... I had never heard of one... however after some searching I did find another site... with issues posted in their forums... about the MF 1010.( Members there asking other members questions.)
I am looking to find out... is it a Garden tractor... since I am not able to find the Massey Ferguson 1010 listed as a model number for the Massey's????:tee: :Tractor2:
I would appreciate any information all you tractor "buffs" have on this one..:thThumbsU :tee: I will look forward to the response.:thanku: "DJ"

I would guess it to be a MF 10, they had a 10hp motor, thus the 1010 ????

You may be correct in it being a Garden Tractor MF10....:o
I am not familar with the Masseys... and this throwed me a "curve":tee:
Now... to find pictures to see what this thing should look like.. We figure it may need some TLC...
Thanks again...:thanku: "DJ"

The MF1010 is a full size SCUT with the three cylinder diesel Toyosha engine. I sold my MF1020 last year (and miss it) it was a '93 model. The MF 10XX series were built from '82-'94. They were built to MF spec's and from Japan until Toyosha (Which took over for Hinomoto) stopped producing engines for them in the mid 90's.
Toyosha also built engines for the Allis Chalmers 5020, Simplicity and maybe a few others.

Look at my Avatar, I have a 1020, very similar, just a few more HP.
Great small tractor. Is it geared or hydro? Mine is hydro with turfs. Great on the lawn, but not much in the field.

Hi Mark,
Thanks so much... I do appreciate all the replies to this... :thanku:
Some of the members will be going Friday evening to see the tractor. I hope it is in restorable condition. :i_praying
Although we restore the "Green" Lawn and Garden tractors for ourselves, we have done a couple "Massey Red" "Big" tractors for other collectors... :)
I will post pictures... as soon as we get them taken... :smilie_fl "DJ"

My neighbor has 1010. Great lil tractor. More than a garden tractor, but less than a regular small farm tractor. Guess they'd be a sub-sub compact tractor. Wish I had one. Maybe if I start a county club too........:praying: Oh, BTW...I "think" they come in 4WD too!

We are raffleling off the tractor, to be given away at the county fair.... :greendr::thThumbsU
I bought tickets... :i_praying :i_praying :i_praying I would love to add it to our collection...:thThumbsU
This is something that the club has been discussing about doing each year to raise money... Buy a tractor, engine, or garden tractor, something to fix up and raffle off each year at the fair..:fing32:
I think this is a great way to raise money for the club... Hope it all turns out well. "DJ"

This is an old post, but I borrowed a friends MF 1010 this past weekend to do some yard work.
He has FEL on it & I needed to move mulch, clean out the run-in shed of horse manure, & spread some aged manure on the garden.
It is a very capable SCUT and worked well. The only draw back was even though it was 4WD, it had turfs and was difficult in manuevering in the soft/muddy ground by the run-in shed.
If I get a chance I will post some pics this week.

Please do on the pics. My 1010 is 2WD, but no loader & I use a belly deck, so it does fine. Just finished mowing!

I was looking on line about the 1010 Massey tractors and came accross your conversations on the 1010. I have a 1991 1010 hydro w/4 wheel drive, with front end loader, box scraper, 54" factory mower deck, plow, and disk. I've been using it since I bought it in 1994. Great little tractor. Mine has turf tires front and rear which doesn't give very good traction except when I put it in 4 wheel drive like in mud or on hills. Also has a locking rear differential which helps a lot. Only downside to the 1010 was it had nor power steering and is a little under powered with only 18 hp from the 3 cylinder diesel engine. I have around 750 hours on it now and have never had to do anything other than replace the water pump a few years back. Was reading about your questions on the 1010 and thought I would put in my 2 cents worth. I'll try to post a picture next time I check in.
