both of the top bidders have 100% positive feedback and i cant imagine going from 2400.00 down to 910.00 something smells fishy....

The problems that nobody realize how big the F-30 is, they were thinking it was an F-12 with bigger engine. The dimension are 14 feet long, 7 1/2 wide, and 6 1/2 tall at the gas cap. Weight is 4700 lbs.
It as big tractor! Four people have shown up with trailers and left with out because it to damn big! I going to drive over there in my little Rav4 tomorrow to look at it!

Probably not a scam per se. Some of those bidders probably didn't realize how big it is and some of those may have been made by the seller under different user ID's. Many times when someone is selling something they know or feel is rare, they enter a few bids to jack up the price. When their plan backfires they go back down the list looking for a buyer. Some of those other bidders although not connected to the auction may have been having a little fun knowing they wouldn't win. They may have seen the name of someone they have a grudge against bidding and think it's there chance to get even. Or maybe they paid alot more for a similar item and don't want someone to get a deal! You may also find out a few weeks after the auction that the seller still has it when he offers it to you, rather than relisting it.

I agree with Bernie... something is up. You would not reject a legit bid for over twice the amount of money, and any legit collector would not have a problem figuring out how to get it home if they bid that kind of money for it.
I have seen articles in farm magazines about these sort of scams on farm equipment. Scammers feel farmers are a trusting bunch, and they frequently make deals on the phone, or with a handshake, therefore an easy target.
THAT BEING SAID... If you go to the guys place, see the tractor, buy it, load it, and get it out of there, it is a hell of a deal! Don't give him any "hold it" money. Take your trailer along and haul it home!

Not wanting to offend anyone...but..something seems 'odd' here...
First off...the description says many times F30N...and the only thing that even has anything to do with an F12, is the F12 or F14 with 'white' rear wheels, in the background of one of the pictures. The Farmall Regulars, F20's, and F30's had the 'drop' axles on the rear end...F12's, and F14's used the straight across rear ends. F30's were predecessors of the Farmall M (same size engine), where as the F12 was the older brother of the Farmall A's & B's. (same size engine)
Seems weird to me to bid on a tractor, then get there and say 'I didn't know it was that big'....looks like the seller would be POed of someone backing out of the 'contract' to buy the tractor........and then be willing to sell it for $910...odd..just plain...odd...BTW, without the crack in the block, an F30N in that condition would probably sell for $1000-$1500 in my area.....the crack in the block would make me think twice...unless you know of someone who is GOOD at welding Cast Iron.

So here I am thinking about the F-30 and transporting.
The trailer I built in Highschool back in 1979-80 for FFA is 16 feet long by 80 inches wide! The F-30 is 92" wide but tires are 14" wide if I remove these tires I might have the dimension dropped to 80" I need to fit it on my trailer.
The F-30 weight is 5400 lbs my Mahindra C35 w/FEL weight is 6400 lbs so weight is not an issue even though I am pulling with a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4 door. Bontia Joe and Farmallmaniac come on down an help me and BigorangeDan. We can have Archdean supervise the loading and towing!

As much as I want you to have the tractor, I gotta wonder about ALL the guys that bid above you have backed out? I've been sent these second chance e-mails too, from sellers that on their original posting SWEAR they never send out second chance offers, and if we get one report it to Ebay. They ALL turned out to be a hoax to get money from me, so be careful!

After weighing the decision, I am not going to get it. I have the fregy to work and it is coming along nicely. Sure it a ugly tractor but work horse and diven it around long enough the engine almost stop smoking. Looks like the rings have loosen up, still might have to do a head job on it!
