It is going to need some work!

I need to rebuild the hydralic pump.

It idles and runs for about 3 minutes and dies

Does burn oil like a piston ring is stuck on No. 4 cylinder, It has been sitting in a barn for the last 10 years. Somebody stole a rear wheel off and that why is remained sitting.

It has a new battery, new rim and tire on the rear.

There are no knocks from the engine, the gas is stale but that tank look good on the inside. Stabil work pretty good for not running in 10 years.

I am not really excited, after I get the engine running good again. My step-son is excited he wants to get it running and play with it and used it for an FFA restore project.

I planned to fix it up and trade it for a Allis Model G

Congratulations Wingnut. Isn't always the same thing when it comes to getting something to trade away the family gets involved and next thing its 5 yrs later and that piece of equipment is still around ROF They help create a life time project out of it. :omg: As usual you will be looked upon to finish it. Enjoy your rebuild and bringing to life the old Fergie :trink40:

After checking the Compression: Good News I found it to be normal on all cylinders :bannana:

So it looks like valve guides are leaking. Removing the Head is a heck of a lot easier task!

It just doesn't have the graceful lines of the Allis B or the look of the the Mahindra. The grey paint scheme of the Ferguson is kind of dull! but good tight steering!

It's funny how most tractors have their charging stuff disconnected....LOL

I do like ROF :fing20: the electrical system it is all over the place and the ground wires are a bunch of cut off stems. Both of the gauges are new and not hooked up! :fing20: It reminds me of my MGB I once owned!

The Tractor is a 1953 Harry Ferguson TO 30

Does anybody know if this model tractor has weak valve guides?

Wingnut, the fergie is a close cousin to the Ford N's..parts are available..

If you know SouNdguy, i think he had a TO20..

Check out Just8N's for motor parts + they have an 800 number to call..

The TO 30 would have a Continental Z129 engine. Guides from a Z134 might work (MF 35 gas). :fing32:
