My next door neighbor moved and just GAVE me his snapper RER. He said his yard at the new place wasn't big enough to need a rider and he was going to junk it if I didn't want it.
It is a hi-vac model with electric start. It runs like a champ, all I had to do was put a battery in it :bannana:
This brings my snapper total to two. I had an older comet and now I have this one. I am a Bolens guy but like the old snappers too.
Sounds like your losing a real good neighbor there boatfixer, congrats on the free snapper you scored. :thThumbsU

What is the snapper you already have?
Can't go wrong with free.

I second the notion that it sounds like you are loosing a pretty nice neighbor. Free is ALWAYS good, even if you really don't want the item, it's always trading material for stuff you DO want. I'll always take free stuff... dishes, tools, clothing, pots & pans, anything, because I have to, I can sell it at the flea market and get cash, whick Yogi Berra often reminds me on TV "is just as good as money."

Yeah, free stuff is the best. He was a good neighbor but he only lived there for about a month. He rented the house while he was waiting for the closing on the house he bought.
He came over and introduced himself when he moved in, we got to talking and somehow it came up that I was looking for a certain size table for my kitchen. The next day when I came home from work there was just the table I was looking for sitting on my front porch. I tried to pay him for it but he wouldn't take any money.
I'm sorry to lose a nieghbor like that.

Update on my 'new' snapper.
My business partner decided he needed it to mow his lawn so now I have to give it to him :eck16:
He has one of those little 1/4 acre subdivision lawns and thought that would be the perfect size rider for him. My lawn is 6 times as big as his but I have to use the old snapper comet with pull start because his poor wife needs the electric start for the one time a summer she mows the lawn.
I shouldn't complain too much though, after all I got it for free. I could use my Bolens H14 to mow but I like to keep it available for the garden and other tractor duties.
I guess I'll use the bolens to pull the lawn sweeper while my partner rakes his :trink40:

I don't know why there is not more Snapper discussion. I guess because they are pretty much lawn mowers and don't do much else. I know you can get a snow blade for the RER but don't know how well that would work with the disc drive setup.
What sort of Snapper LT do you have JRC?

Got the old snapper out of moth balls yesterday and got it ready for the first mowing of the season.:bannana:
Changed the oil, sharpened the blades and aired up the tires. Started on the first pull after being stored on end all winter.
Mowed today, the poor little eight horse briggs got a workout with the thick grass, it's been too wet to mow here the last few weekends so the grass was really heavy. Got the job done though.
