Over the years I have had pretty good luck working on vehicles, but this has to be the dumbest thing I have ever done. I took the battery out of my L305 on Saturday, had it tested and got a new one today. This evening, it was getting dark and about 15 degrees out, and being in a hurry, I incorrectly assumed that the red cable was for positive and the black for negative. After realizing that I had no power when I went to start it, I checked out the cables and was horrified to find the red cable bolted to the frame. I have to say, this must be the first vehicle I have ever seen where the red cable goes to negative and black to positive. I reversed the cables, but I still have no power when I try and start it. What I mean by this is that the red lights(oil pressure and battery) in the dash don't even come on when I turn the key to the start position. The battery tests at almost 12.6 volts, so it's fine. The 40 amp fuse is fine( has about 12.6 volts flowing through it), and all of the other fuses are fine. I'm thinking that maybe I fried the main switch where the key is inserted. If anyone can shed any light on this nightmare, please let me know. :duh: Thanks, Paul
