I recently lost the cover for my PTO (plastic cup) I moved a bunch of rotten wood and brush and am pretty sure it ended up in the pile. Last resort is to tear into the pile but its a big pile....
Any info on a part # and where to get one. The manual just refer's to it as a PTO cover. There are no Yanmar dealers that I can find up here in Conn so looks like mail order.
Thanks

Was this part a plastic cup that pressed on the splines just to keep the dirt off? What's the dia of the shaft it protects?

The cup actually covers the whole assy. Looks Its about 6" to 8" diameter where it presses onto the casting and then tapers off out toward the end of the splines. Almost looks like a funnel/cone shape. Shaft approx 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" dia
My manual shows a picture just no number. I'll bring the manual to work tomorrow and scan the picture in so I can post it.
Thanks

Here is a picture of the rear assy for the PTO. The original cover fit over the whole unit (the entire cast ring persay. I am trying to scan in the picture from the manual but hav'nt got that figured out just yet.

Hmmmmm.... kinda blows my idea for a cheap aftermarket replacement out of the water. I was thinking of a company called Cap Plug

Contact Ernie http://www.ernies.net/index.htm he has 3 of these newer Yanmars for personal use and sells quite a few newer models. He should be able to help you with your needs.
Personally I've not seen one of these covers over a pto shaft. Personally hting the shroud aroung the shaft is more hassle than help but that's me.

Sorry Bassman....I've been looking around before I responded and I haven't found much. The 169D is a made for America Yanmar and I'm thinking that any authorized dealer should have or can get one for ya. I've never seen one on a gray market tractor.

Thanks Mark, I'm gonna call Ernie's and probably Hoyt's just to check but Its looking like It might be just as easy to break up the pile of rotten wood and brush where I think it ended up. Good job for my 15yr old son and his buddies although It may cost me more than replacing it in the end. I might be able to stir up the pile with the bucket and have them keep their eyes peeled. I'll let you guys know what I come up with.
Thanks

The pto cover is listed in the price sheet. I believe I have one in stock that someone ordered, but didn't take.

I'll second Mark's comment. We need more Yanmar experts than Mark, no offense intended Mark. I've tried to get Ernie to partisipate here and he has made a few posts but also see he is not posting to TBN very often either.
