It don't look to be in to bad of shape. Sounds like you may have to do a little work on the motor and the clutch and the hydraulics.

Well its not one of the tractors I really want. If I win it I am going to repair the hydraulic pump. Then I will scope the cylinder and look for damage then compression test them. If I find it to be only a stuck ring I will pour a couple of oz. of automatic transmission into the cylinder and let it sit for about week this will unstick most rings.

My grandfather (mechanic from 1922-1974 diesel and gas) taught me compression diagnosis:
Step 1 Remove spark plugs then check the compression.
Step 2 If compression is low on a cylinder Squirt a couple of oz. of motor oil in the spark plug hole.
Step 3 Re-check compression on the cylinder again
If a increase in compression is noted A ring is stuck or broken
If there is no change in compression:
Possible cause are:
Hole in the Piston (this would cause smoking) Visually inspect piston throught the sparkplug hole.
Damaged Valve (this would cause popping sound or backfire) remove head and inspect
Bent Connecting Rod (this would cause a knock and the engine to be out of balance) remove old pan and visual inspect.
Damaged connect rod bearing (this would cause a knock and the engine to be out of balance, and can cause low oil pressure) Visual inspect by turning the engine by hand (ratchet) for the piston ito be at the top of the cylinder then turn the engine (by hand) if there is lag (piston hangs) when going down compare to the other piston damage bearing. Or remove the oil pan and check for lateral movement by shaking the connecting rods.

The damage connecting bearing is the worst case this usually require the crank to be turned and connect rod to be replaced.

Hole in piston replace piston and rings

Damage valve replace valve and possible valve seat

Bent connecting rod replace rod, piston, and rings
