Hey folks, I talked about doing some paint work on a 4240 last winter for a friend, thought I would throw a few pics up to show how bad I really am :fing20:

Tractor is I beleive an 80 model, had 9800 hours on it when I painted it. Lots of hours but overall a good tractor. the owner uses it to haul grain to his local elevator and to pull his 12 row corn planter. Put the last coat on about 10 minutes before the power went out due to a severe ice storm we were having. Sweat bullets till I saw that the paint had dried before it got too cold.

By far, the decals were the hardest part of that job, even though they are 5 pieces.

Oh hell..a few more pics wont hurt any....

Thats really just water on the hood, I washed the road salt off of it from hauling it home.

Looks very nice! I can't believe it's got that many hours... Wow..Says something about JD and probably good maintanance! Did you paint it in a heated booth or....? What kind of temps?

Awesome job.

I actually painted it in the shop of my former employer, so I guess you could say I had a 36X60 heated booth :D

Used JD paint and thinner, kept the temp around 62-64 degrees.
