Here is the results of my first project with the BX 1500
I removed around 5-6" of mulch and replaced it with 3/4" trap rock. I had around 50 tons of stone delivered and I spread it with the BX1500. The rock was needed for drainage on my driveway. We did around 170 feet on each side of our driveway out to the main road

These stones were dug out using the bucket and made a nice border. This will become a stone wall this weekend.

Leolav, looks like they sold you the incorrect Grill/Hood protector, that one is for the model with the backhoe. The better one for the standard bx's is orange and taller and more protective than that one. Dealer cost in 2003 was $107. Course if you are just tooling around the yard with it it don't matter, but if out in the woods or field the other is much more protective.

I actually told them that this was the one that I wanted. It is for the BX23, but I liked how it made it look a little better than the standard orange. It still accomplishes what I am looking for it to do which is to prevent the grill from being bashed in by a log, etc that may come over the bucket. I don't have a lot of heavy brush to go through with it anyways. I think the plasma cut BX looks badass anyways!
Plus, the added bonus was that it was thrown in to make the whole deal happen by the dealers salesman. I told him that it would all hinge on that. He did it in a heartbeat.
Helps I do alot of negotiating for a living!!

I also mowed my entire lawn in a little over 40 minutes last night (the fastest I have ever done it). Granted, the grass was high, but it still looks great.
On another note, what it the easiest way for me to hook up a 1 7/8" ball to the three point? I saw one of those bars with the holes in it at the dealer and that looked like it would work, but I wasn't sure what type of weight they can support.

I'd suggest putting the ball on the hitchplate, as is is much more stable and designed for that, that's where I had it on the bx2200. You can use a drawbar on the 3pt, but be aware if you do not use stabilizers up to the center link pin the trailer can raise up on you unexpectedly if weight shifts to rear of trailer due to no downward force.

You could get a 3 pt hitch adapter from Bad River. Their hitch adapter has a safety chain to prevent tongue weight from shifting upward.
I'm really happy with mine, and I think Ducati996 is pleased with his, IIRC.
Here's the link to the Bad River hitch adapter: http://www.badriverinc.com/prod02.htm

I might take a stab at fabricating one on my own. I have my welder and where theres a welder, there is a way.!!!

Try this approach and yes mine is larger but the idea is the same!!
Crap it won't let me show it twice!
In my gallery look under ball hitch !
Dean,
Copy the pic to your desktop, change the name, repost as an attachment and it should work fine.

Dean,
Give me an exact address for the pics and I give it a try. This might help others too in the same situation.

I've had the same problem before Greg. I changed the name and it still wouldn't let me post it again. I wonder if a name change and maybe changed the size of it would make a difference. :fing20:
And a sweet tractor you have there Leo...i'm jealous. :hatsoff:

Dur,
There may be an underlying problem. When I get the addresses for the pics that won't work from Dean, I've got a couple ideas on what to try. But, I need to be working with the same pics he had the prob with.
We do want to be able to see Leo's tractor on other threads too....ROF

Leolav, was there some reason the factory hitchplate does not work for you? Trailer Tongue too short, etc? Anything else will just get more leverage on that light tractor.

The hitch plate would work, but I would have to take off the Cat 1 arms to make it work better (turning radius). It actually isn't as light as you would think. The tractor is actually fairly heavy. I will tow my boat, my mow n vac, and a utility tractor with firewood most of the time. None of these will really affect leverage at all with the tractor.

Thanks for the pictures! I am looking at a bx1500 with a 54 inch belly mower and a front end loader for $9985 out the door. Is this a good price??? How useful is the loader going to be? (It's a large part of the price.) He is giving me the mower for cost plus shipping if I buy the loader.
Thanks in advance for your replies. I went today and turned in a credt ap. I can have it delivered monday if I decide I want it.

1* I got this price from my dealer a while back
5700 BX 1500
1450 tiller
1350 front blade
-------------------------------
Total 8500
2*I have 368 hours on my BX23.
Probably 225 of those are loader work so I'd say the loader is pretty darn handy.

Anyone out there have a BX 1500 Kubota that pushes around green waste like branches and lawn clippings and dirt....is the front end loader the best for this or should I use a front end plow... I will have a bx1500 for my property in a few days and i was wondering how good the loader is for pushing back material...such as rocks, dirt, sand, crap, etc....use the frond end plow or loader........???????? I obviously haven't got any hours in the seat yet, but this is on my mind.

Leolav,
Really great looking property and great tractor plus attachments for the price. Just one little thing - green would blend in so much better with your landscaping than orange!! ;) :goodl:

I just couldn't justify the price difference. I have nothing against Deere, but its only gonna get dirty.
