Maybe this is the place to show what we collect. sometimes a collection of certain items happen by accident. Might be new stuff or even Rusty stuff.
I have nose trouble !! I would like to see what kind of history , antique`s, and toys that We all have. Theres no end to what everybody will save , and put on the shelf.
Personlly , I have several thing to post, I`m only going to post one thing at a time. I`m sure myself and others will have questions about your collections.
Here`s some race Cars that I have accumilated and a few of my knives.

That reminds me! I have a whole load of diecast too! Most of them are Action cars. As a Matco distributor, I picked up many of these over the years. One of my favorites are the Winston cars, especially the gold winston dragster. Got a few of the bikes too.

Just picked up a 40th anniversary mustang knife. Has the original on one side and the new one on the other. Comes in a tin case with mustang emblem and also has a hat pin. Got the same set for the 50th anniversary T-Bird also. Could probably still order them if anyone is interested.

I have one thing I collect. I collect sports related items (trading cards, autographed baseballs, jerseys, etc) I currently have over 400,000 trading cards, 350 autographed baseballs(mostly Red Sox players current and former), 12 autographed basketballs(All Celtics), 22 autographed bats(mostly Red Sox and Mark McGwire), and 8 autographed footballs (All Patriots). I also have 25 autographed jerseys.

My most treasured item in my collection is my autographed Red Sox baseball that I got the entire team to sign at the season ticket holders private meeting with the team after the World Series last year. I have seen several of these on ebay last year and the highest price I have seen it go for is around $6,000.

I also have ticket stubs for the ALCS and World Series last year. I have them framed along with the other stuff in our family room.

When I was in college, I worked for a marketing agency that used to work with all of the trading card companies and they used to get me a ton of the stuff I have for balls, etc. It was a great perk of working with these type of companies as almost all of my items are either authenticated or personally attained).

I really don't sell this stuff, but my wife sure would like to have the walk in closet where we store the cards back.

I did!! The guy who bought it died a few months after he bought it. His widow asked me if I would be interested in buying it back because she was in pretty dire straits financially over his illness (he ended up having stomach cancer and had tons of doctor bills). I went over to her house (which was up for sale) and told her that I would give her what I sold it to him for. She was more than gracious.

I kinda felt bad. the poor guy put less than 80 miles on it before he died.

Now I am planning on putting it back on Hemmings website to try and sell it again. I have rearranged the barn/shed/garage to fit our vehicles in. It is tight quarters now that the Kubota is in the garage.

We have a three car garage that has the Pontiac, my wifes minivan, my SUV and the Kubota!!! Time to get rid of the Pontiac!!! AGAIN!!!

I had a large collection of baseball cards from the early 1980s that I sold to get some of the down payment money on my house, Also sold most of the coin collection. I still have some odds and ends coins, and about 100 baseball cards. I also collect guns, tools, cordless analog information storage devices (books), maps, and photos of the places I've been and adventures I've had.

I collect antique radios--consoles, tabletops and chairsides. But I really should say "used to collect" as I haven't acquired one in over a decade. But I would still jump on a console if the right one came along. That, and being able to hide it from my wife! :D

I love the art deco styling of the pre early 40's radios. Remember, back then a console was considered furniture, so many of the cabinets were beautifully made and designed.

The first pic is a 1940 Philco 40-180, taken soon after I restored it in 1987. I have since found a replica to replace the missing knob. I bought it at an auction for $5. It had a mouse nest and a snake skin on top of the radio chassis, inside the cabinet. The chassis is junk, so it doesn't play. I stripped and sanded the finish down to bare wood, and applied tung oil. The original 40-180 had a thick, painted-like stain that made the wood appear to be one type. I like the way it turned out though.

The 2nd pic shows a 1940 Zenith 8A 02. It still works, and the cabinet is original. With the SW, I can pick up radio stations from all over the world in the late evenings. The other piece is a 1947 (maybe 1949--I forgot) Hoffman TV. No pic, but the cabinet is nice, and it has "Hi-Fi" controls. I also have an Edison player with lots of Edison discs.

Nice job on the radios and TV Mow!

I have one chairside unit, along with several table model radios all tube type. They seemed to produce better sound and reception with the tubes on AM band than the new radios. I have both bakelite type and wood case models. Also have a 6" Emerson TV and a Zenith Trans- Ocean AC/DC with the aligator style case. They don't work. I need a couple of tubes for a start but never really looked for replacements. Most of the other radios still work. I wished I'd bought the old tube tester where I work when they sold it. I also have a fascination with old clocks. I several mantel clocks that came down through the family. Seth Thomas, Ingraham mainly. But would like to have room for several grandfather clocks with the different types of chimes.

Never really thought of it much, but I don't really collect much of anything. I have close to 200 CD's, but that's just music- not something I really consider a collectable. I do have alot of old Hot Wheel type cars- Rolls Royce, Studebaker, model A's and T's, "cigar" type Indy cars, etc, but they were given to me. Can't really take credit for collecting them I guess.

As for what I collect.....

I have my tractors, and cars. Aquare is more the word for them though. I have a bunch of trains, but dont know if collecting is the word eather. I am STARTING a collection of stuff to do with the Albany Sothern railroad, but as of now, just have one peice. Is it called a collection when you just start?? Other then that I do have a stash of Hot Rods,Car Crafts, and Pop hotroddings from the early 80;s on. Is saving the same as collectiing?

Ditto on the sound, Mark. I like the warm sounds of tube equipment.

Thanks Mow! That clock (according to the dealer) dates back to WWI. A soldier stationed there had it shipped back to the states. If that's true or not I don't know, but the glass in the door has that old glass "ripple" effect. It chimes "Westminster" and has a beautiful deep soft chime.

My wife is an avid collector of beanie babies, Star Wars and Jurrasic park stuff. She literally has the one spare bedroom packed to the walls and ceiling with th stuff. Odds are if its related to any of the above items she has it, and in multiples most likely. I also have aheap of die casts,. mainly the early tootsie toys and tons of Hot wheels vehicles from way back. She also collects anything German Shepherd or Dachshund related, as well as Goat stuff.........

I collect Pepe' Le Pew and the wife likes Minnie & Mickey Mouse. She at one time had the house full of cookie jars that we ended up selling to get moving expenses(didn't want to move them anyway). She likes M&M Mouse so much that she even had Mickey tiles comissioned and installed when we remodeled our kitchen in Las Vegas. Thank God the new buyers fell in love with the tile work. The M&M tiles over the sink & stove could have been a deal breaker. But the feature that sealed the deal was the shower with 2 shower heads.

I am like most of you , over the years a lot of things have been saved.
Tools , Knives , old car parts , Pictures that I have taken of old barns , schools , churches and old home places .
I`m posting a pic of some tools powered by a old style drill , wish I had one of them , they were long and round like a cylinder .
I only had one , the saw in the center. Befor My oldest brother (Sonny) went into a hospitel , he put these tools in a walmart bag. He told his wife if he didn`t come home , that she should give them to me .
It amazes ne how much stuff is being collected , and nice stuff too.
There must be more !!!

Not for trading/sale...but still a collection of fishing rods and reels that I have, most I use at one time or the other.

My rods..

The ones in the colored covers are Daiko or Shimano, the ones with no cover are Bass Pro Shop and G. Loomis and the ones in the grey covers are G. Loomis. They are from 5' to 21' with most between 6' and 9'. I use them for Salt water from shore or boat, bass fishing, salmon, steelhead, trout a couple for halibut and ling cod.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v165/kgregc/Standingrods.jpg

The heavy salt reels...

The top are Penn 340 and 345, then 2 Shimano electrics...a charter special and Spinning reels.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v165/kgregc/DSC01138.jpg

The casting reels...

Most are Shimano...my favorite. I use these for bass, trout, salmon and steelhead...only changing the line weight. Max I use is 15lb for salmon and steelhead unless the larger than normal ones are in and then I might go to 17lb.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v165/kgregc/DSC01139.jpg

The spinning reels...

Again, mostly Shimano.

I don't use spinning as much as I probably should, especially for bass/trout.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v165/kgregc/DSC01140.jpg

I also have quite a "collection" of lures for salt and fresh water, various species.

As you can probably tell.....one of my hobbies is.....fishing..ROF
