:Welcome1:

The 140 should have a 14 hp Kohler, the K-321.

A great place for info and parts is the Yahoo group for these tractors, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Jacobsen_Ford_Garden_Tractors/

Price depends on condition, whether it includes any accessories, etc. I've seen them go for over $1000 fully restored. Average price seems to be about $300-400 though.

And :wwp:

Sounds like you got a great deal. Those old Fords with Kohlers are pretty tough. :thThumbsU

Congradulations on a good deal! Your tractor was made by Jacobsen. They made these for Ford, Oliver, White, and MM.
Your "new" tractor should be the cousin to my 2 Jacobsen 1450's. Is yours hydro or gear drive? I think hydro's were 145's and gear driven were 140's.
Did it have the deck with it? Most of these had the 42" cast alum. decks which are great - no rust.
I use my 2 year round and they are still going strong - all original, even the tires!
Parts can be tough. Ebay is about the best bet - Joe's outdoor power equip. usually has some parts. There was an outfit named Correll's (sp) who bought all of Jacoben's remaining stock but they have sold out and I don't know who has the parts now.
Good luck with your new toy!

Corrl's Tractor Parts has been sold to Eversharp Power Equipment in Medina, Ohio. Their address is 2480 Medina Road 44256. Phone is 330-723-2480. John is the counter person and is very helpful and knowledgable.
