Other than tractors (mainly Gravely), I have a permanent Lionel Layout in my basement and that passes the time in the winter, when I am not outside plowing and on rainy days.

Unfortunately no.......Lost all of mine during Tropical Storm Agnes when I lived in pennsylvania. I had trains I had bought, as well as trains that were bought for me as a kid, by my 2 grandfathers, and my parents, as well as trains my dad himself had.........Had all the makings for a huge layout, and both grandparents and dad used to get into it big time.......I eventually bought a house with a huge open basement and we moved it all there, and along came Agnes......Getting the house back together priority one, not salvageing the trains.....All were Lionels, and quite a few American Flyer as well. A hidden cave up in the mountain filled with water, and burst, flooding my house and a few others on the hillside..........moved the entire house right off the foundation and filled the basement up to the top with mud and rock.....I was only in this house 6 months and all was not set up yet, but we were working on it...Lost it all....A small fortune in Lionels and American Flyers are buried in that mess............
Had the All aluminum Santa Fe passenger set, with observation cars etc, and the extra wide radius track for the passenger cars since they were quite long, IIRC they took 18 inch radius and regular radius track was 12. All the Plasticville houses and buildings and figureines........The locomotives you used to drop those little white pills into the smoke stack to make "smoke".......The water tower, vibrating coal loader and hopper cars, the lighted airport beacon light.........it was a serious collection built up over the years and its all toast!

I have plenty of trains. I have lionel and american flyer in O, O27 and standard gauge from when my father was a kid. I have all his Ho trains, mostly from the 60's and 70's. The HO is varney, tyco, athern, ahm, rivarossi, Bachman, etc.
I started in N scale when my brother gave me a starter set for Christmas when I was about 8 or 9. Wasn't much in N back then. Now I have loads of N scale mostly Kato, Atlas, Trix, ConCor, LifeLike, Bachman, Arnold Rapido, etc.
I recently picked up a few sets of HO scale NYCTA Redbirds subway cars in HO by LIfeLike in their Proto 1000 series. I have an N scale layout setup in my old bedroom, but I haven't run them in awhile.
I would like to build an "el" for the subway cars, but never seem to find the time.
I'm really sorry to hear about that Chip. What a heartbreak. Irreplaceable. :banghead3

TRAINS!! Now THERES something I can talk about :D
My biggest hobby of all times,[OK well other then discovering women:D :D] is trains. Above cars, tractors boats anything.
I dont have much right now, but I had grown up with them. My stepdad was a big collector of trains, and we always had a basement full of them. Most all of them got sold off when he passed. My mom saved some, but I doupt there any left now. Mostly I am into HO, and G now. I have some of each, but have no layout as of yet. Oh and been giving thought to building a 7 1/2" guage railway in my yard.

It is 12 x 16, but the space goes fast with "O" gauge trains.........

Chip, it is a VW pickup. I have a whole collection of 1:43 VWs for my layout. I sort of have an affection for old air cooled VWs. I guess I like them because they are simple.........or maybe because the engine is in the back like my Gravely............ ;)

Sounds like HO, N scale didn't get started until the later 60's. Originally, N gauge was introduced by Aurora as "Postage Stamp" trains. It was later sold to Minitrix which just goes by the name Trix today. I have 2 sets of the Postage Stamp greyhound bus sets which my Grandmother bought me in Alexander's on Fordham Rd in The Bronx when I was about 6 years old. I set them up every once in awhile. Brings back some great memories.

I've got an American Flyer set still in the box that was bought for me on my first Christmas (1956) It has been set up a few times, but always carefully put back in the box. Still has the corrogated cardboard simulated stone supports to carry the track over in the figure eight pattern. I think the last time it was set up has to be over 15 years ago. I also have a couple of HO train sets still in the box, never set up. I never had the space to do it. My uncle has a beautiful HO layout that fills half his basement, but I never had the space like he does.

I have an 1939-1948 misc. Lionel Trains set my father bought when he was kid through garage sells. Everything is in rough shape and need repairs to run again. When I have free time ROF I plan to fix it up.

Dad bought me a Lionel train set for Christmas one year. Then we set up a 4' X 8' layout in the basement. We started going to trainshows and buying more. He ended up joining the local model railroad club and still attends most every meeting. We have mainly O and G gauge.

Hey another G guager. :D Love working with that scale, but it is tough to fine room for a layout.

This is sure the place for "Garden" railroading. My wife wants me to leave the New York Central's HO scale Hudson Division and head out in back with the G gauge "big trains". She has not yet been forthcoming with the financial backing to make the jump. (I guess she's broke after buying me the JD335 and a bunch of trimmings!) I had alot of '46-'55 era Lionel but auctioned it in '89 to buy a custom accoustic guitar... Lionels just didn't do it for me. Then I got into HO and went crazy.
"Two longs, one short, one long!", maybe I'll put a horn on the Deere...

She WANTS you to build a garden railroad??? WOW!!. I have been pitching one for YEARS, but so far no bite. I already have a mental plan, so I am set when the time comes. We have talked about putting in a small pond one of thes days, and that will be my jumping off point. A nice dock sean WILL be part of it.
Also tossing around a 7 1/2 guage railroad. Lots of work, but should be fun. Already gathering parts to make my first engine.
