Hi Jody. I know you from Abbys. I just got this one in May. It's my 3rd Simp. The first was a late 60's Sovereign I got in 1982. Sold that in 1994 when I bought a 1990 12.5LTH. Now I bought the Conquest...my true dream machine. LOL It's nice to have a new tractor. I still have the 1990 and another one just like it as a parts tractor. I'm filling the shed up. Somehow a few weeks ago I stumbled into this site. Nice to have a section just dedicated to Simplicity. Nice to see you here and good luck on the mod squad. LOL I'll be around. Kevin

Hi Greg. I was wondering where it went. LOL No better place than in here I guess. When I get a chance I'll post pics of the three Simplicitys I've had since I bought my house in 1982. When I was a new home owner and looking for a tractor, the real estate agent that sold me my house hooked me up with someone selling a Simplicity. I asked him if they were a quality tractor! He just looked at me funny. What did I know. :bonk: LOL Anyway, I'm a big fan. Soon as I can I'll post those pics.
Thanks for the comments guys. Kevin

Hi John. I have one acre to cut, but I just started cutting my elderly neighbors property and thats about another two acres plus I cut paths through her woods and fields. That justified getting the Conquest. My neighbor on the other side built a small golf green in the middle of his backyard about 3 years ago. We decided to have the first "Bedlam Knob" Invitational a few weeks ago. I supplied the tee area and fairway in my backyard. Of course the Conquest was up to the job. Not exactly Augusta, but we had fun. We didn't break any windows either. LOL Kevin

thats awesome... i wonder if golfers would be upset with stripes in a lawn? io mean, striping is bending the grass one way or another... i dont golf but maybe a guy putting would have a hard time gaging his shot because the grass was not uniform??
also nice that you volunteer to cut the neighbors lawn... Im a Lion and i always thought it would be nice to do something like 'Lions doing lawns' and cut the lawns of elderly folks who cant do it...
it always seemed like a great idea.. but problem is.. i dont have enough time or energy to keep up with my yard.. let alone 2 or 3 on the side.. :fing20:

I believe that's the height adjuster, the Simp Lancer I had was the same way.
Slam
Looks like it connects to the real roller... could it adjust the striping?

Nice looking tractor. I was looking to buy a Massey 2600 searies what I belive is the same tractor. Real nice unit. I did not need a HD GT becouse of having my 8N, and my Ingersoll's, but it was a nice heavy duty tractor to handle all my mowing needs.

Slammer has it. Thats the deck height adjuster.
John, my neighbor had a lawn service doing her yard for some years now. The last couple years they were doing a sub standard job. Around the middle of April I went over and just cut her yard to clean up from last fall. I used my 1990 12.5 LTH then. The next day she saw me in my yard and told me how nice it looked and thanked me. Then she asked if I would do it she would pay me what she paid the service. I told her I'd do it for free and to just cover the gas and any fertilizers I might use. So we struck a deal and shes very pleased with the way her yard looks. I gave her the deluxe cut today. LOL.. It was real thick and high from recent rains so I gave it a basic cut first. After I cleaned up the clippings I then proceeded to stripe her entire yard. It really did look good. I think I'm becoming a lawn artist. LOL It is demanding on my time, but worthwhile. The other day she said,"I can't thank you enough for doing this". She's always been a great neighbor and I'm just glad to help.

Thanks AGCO.
I forgot about this thread. I've used it for two cutting seasons now and love it. Only 2 minor problems. A safety switch issue which the dealer came to the house and fixed. Needed an adjustment.
Also one time I replaced the air filter on the 20HP Vanguard and it seemed to be running rich. The counter guy sold me the wrong filter. It fit alright, but didn't match up with that specific engine because of the EPA standards.
While I'm on the subject, the gasket on the one I was sold had a blue gasket ring around it. The dealer told me it should be black for my engine. The filter paper is not as thick as the blue one. New one on me.
Maybe this will help someone down the road.

Van,
Nice looking Conquest. I too am a Simplicity nut. Had three so far, but still have two. I had a '67 or '68 728 I bought when I bought our home. I traded that in on a 4211 in '81. Just got a '03 Prestige in Jan. What size deck and engine do you have on yours? :trink39:

HI Cadman,
I think I've seen your name around the OPE forums circuit.
The Conquest is a 2005 20/44. It was more than I planned on spending at the time, but with approval of the finance minister (wife) it happened. Instead of telling the story again, heres a link fom here that kind of tells the story of my Simplicity history. I still have the 12.5LTH and the parts tractor for it. I haven't used any parts from it yet though. The 17 year old Vanguard on that still is running strong and doesn't burn or leak oil. Good engine.

Good luck with your Prestige.
