The Big Bull I came to help Louis prep this for the coming Texas Tractor Show. (http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=30207) This tractor came from Clifton Texas, the engine was missing it take during the WWII scrap drive, the farmer refused to let them take the wrest of the tractor.
Louis befriend the farmer and he would give to to Louis if he would get it running. Louis did get it running with a John Deere Model B engine and let the old farmer drive during a home town parade.
Lewis started looking for a real Big Bull Engine, he went to Rollag and brought back connecting rod and pistons, he was also able to take pictures of a restored Bull during the show.
Lewis could have been an artist, he pulled out his sketch book and drew up of the that bull in Rollag enough that people were gathering around him and he was offered money for his drawing. He said "You should of seen the faces when he pull out a tape measure and started recording the measurement on his drawings".
Lewis and his wife stop off at this small cafe in South Dakota, he was going through his list of parts needed; he had not located the flywheel for the Bull.
A local farmer raised his head he up and looked over at Lewis and said "If you are that hard up to find a Bull's Flywheel take one of mine; I have 3 weighing down plow."
Lewis was able to a crank case in Alabama and he got some extra pistons rings for it, and had to go back to Rollag to get a reverse gear for it. Lewis was able to get the whole engine back together, but he has yet to find hand crank to start the engine, he built a friction drive 12 volts starter for it.
The Big Bulls sell in this condition for $65,000 to $70,000
