The Kioti DK65S is probably the most tractor and best buy for the dollar spent currently on the market.......at least in my opinion. :fing10:
Not many if ANY manufacturers with the exception of a few Chinese import manufacturers that offer a 4WD, 65 hp Perkins (now Catarpillar) diesel, Cab w/CHA in the low $30,000 dollar range. Plus, the DK65S is not a bad looking machine.

Word has it that Kioti is coming out with a DK85S next year. This should be interesting to follow.

Not a bad looking machine at all Chief. I would say that is a very good price for that high quality of a tractor.

A new dealer near my place got his first shipment including one of everything they had. The first to go was the DK65s. Nice machine it is!

That is a gorgeous tractor... And the Cat (Perkins) motor is a beast I can speak from
experiance! And hey if it wasn't a good tractor Cub would not be re-branding them!
I wish I could have comfortably afforded the dk65 with cab, hoe, fel, rear finish....
MMMM heat and air... stereo.... Geesh that is SO me..

I dunno - I'll chime in on the other side of the fence! I've known several people who have bought Kioti, and ALL have had problems! They are not as "stout" built as they appear! Don't think I'd buy one - or a Cub - just from what I've seen! Besides - it's ORANGE! ROF It's just my crumbled opinion, don't want a "color war", other's may have seen different! A Kioti might serve your operation better and be a great machine for you! What ever you do, though - don't get the Kioti backhoe..........

Galen,
I can say the same for any piece of equipment made by humans or robots as far as I
know none of us are infalable right? I can say John Deere or Yanmar or Case or Cat
or any of them are no good because "I have a friend" that has broken one of each or
numerous friends that have broken or had issues with all of the above".
I think the Kioti looks like a nice machine and as far as my cub goes.... I am glad I
went this way instead of Kubota.

Brett6284D, Easy there Killer. Dash wasn't trying to dash anyone's pride. He was just letting us know What he knows and thinks. Kioti may have just sent a bad batch his way, but then again, there may an inherent flaw with Kioti and Cub CUT's for that matter.
I research answers, comments and suggestions that pertain to me before accepting them as gospel or just getting twisted out of shape, unless I know who I'm dealing with.
Nobody's trying to make anybody mad, just sharing information.

Didn't mean to rattle ya, Brett! You have obviously had pretty good luck with them! It works for you, go for it! Either way, it still gets you out and in the seat! :trink39:

Bruce,
Like I said above, we are all humans and things we build will break (all of them) this is
not my opinion it's not "how I feel" it's fact and I stand by what I said.
I am not on the attack of defense just pointing out the truth that is all.
If you work anything hard enough it will break, if you don't maintain something it will
also fail and in my experiance everyting mechanical breaks, it would be nice if they
didn't.... But they do :)
As for Pride, that certainly had no bearing on my choice of tractor considering I have
owned Deere and Yanmar in the not so distant past, even a Yardman (Junk IMHO) and
I hated the fact Cub was wholy owned by MTD but it certainly is not an MTD tractor
and unlike the Kubota's I looked at (BX23, BX24, B Series and L Series) it's made in
the USA and uses cast iron rather than cast aluminum.
I just wish I had the cast to buy something like the DK65 or the Kubota Grand Cab
those to me are just fine machines (same with the similar sized Deere's ) but spending
that much was out of the question because the attatchments wind up costing way
more as well.
:)

Galen,
Trust me it's no sweat friend! We all have our preferences, some like new, some like old
some like yellow some like green. It's like arguing that Chevy is better than Ford or vice
versa, because we all know Dodge is really better than both...
It's one of those things none of us can decisively or conclusively prove, but if we do
the research we find out that Chevy Ford and Dodge all break down too.
On the other side of that, I know some people that could break anything! I have a
friend who could bust a solid ball machined out of Unobtanium (and that's saying
something!) :D
Cheers to you as well!

For whats its worth.......we've sold (and for a retailer thats staking your reputation on a product) the Cub Cadet 8354 (DK35) and 8454 (DK45) for the last 3 years. We have a good number in the field. 60% are in revenue producing work and WORKING for a living.
You know what?.....one factory defect.....an hour meter that didn't work from the get go. Have we fixed what people tore up..Sure...........was it the tractor's fault?....Nope. A strong ANIMAL of a tractor.
That's why we are the newest Kioti dealer in Florida. :fing32:

Welcome to the forum.... :trink39:
The DK45 SC cab tractor is a nicely finished cab tractor with Kioti's strong 45 hp engine. Close the door on the cab and you feel quality. The 55 hp and 65 hp use Perkins diesels for the same reason many other manufacturers use the Kioti/Dae Dong diesel. Emissions !
Off road engines (gas and diesel) have to be emisiions certified by US EPA and the European Union has their environmental standards ,called EEC, as well.
Unless a manufacturer has enough volume on an engine, it makes sense "cost wise" to purchase elsewhere. All the other Kioti's from 20 to 45 use Kioti/DaeDong engines.btw they have a fully automated engine plant in South Korea producing 10 engines within 6 different families. Production is 50,000 engines plus. That's no small deal. DaeDong Tractors, combines and Rice equipment are sold in 40 countries around the world. This is not some small potatoes, private label manufacturer.

It's pretty, and cheap, but I will continue to go with a Deere or Kubota since I know I can always get my money back when and if I want to sell.

today i bought a new DK55 with a loader. i looked at others, but i got more bang for my bucks and 4.99 percent financing is nice too. its a real horse, can't wait to get it in the hay feilds. it has tilt steering, heavy castings through out. a turbo charged engine, cat II HITCH, heavyduty everything.
so, i like it, its not green, nor blue, its a nice shade of orange, its not better than the others, but i like it.

jda1961,
Good luck with your new machine.

Thank you for the avatar.
On my canopy I added 6 lights. 4 facing forward and 2 out the back.
I also added an am/fm cassette radio.(radio has a headphone jack so I can listen to the radio while mowing)

On the rear I added hydraulic top link cylinder and a hydraulic tilt cylinder.
This is a great setup. I can control the tilt and cutting angle of a boxblade or rear blade while on the move from the operator seat.

its now got 78 hours on it. i have managed to twist the propeller shaft out of a heavyduty brushhog. the brushhog is supposed to be extreme heavyduty, but its not heavyduty enuff for a dk55, twisted the shaft 3 turns out of center and it did'nt break, but its not useable. bushhog wants 435 bucks for an original replacement, i found a place in georgia that sells the same category 5 shaft for 135 bucks. tried to load pics but my pics are to big.

Hi all
I own a 1990 Kioti, LB 2614 w/FEL.
It is a darn good tractor and built heavy for its size.
Not the least bit interested in trading it, but a bigger one would be nice!
