Condition is on of the most important factors in determining the value of a tractor.
The following is a general grading guide for vintage tractors by C.H. Wendel (http://www.amazon.com/Standard-Catalog-Farm-Tractors-1890-1980/dp/0873497260/sr=1-4/qid=1157548762/ref=sr_1_4/102-9119159-8228945?ie=UTF8&s=books)

Condition or Grade 1
A tractor that is new or restored to new condition, both mechanical and cosmetically, steel wheels may have lugs removed or replaced with rubber cleats or flatten tread so it can travel in parades or at shows.
A tractor in this condition need not be restored to better-than-new precision example manufacturing casting flaws.

Condition or Grade 2
A tractor that is well restored or an extremely well maintained tractor that can be featured in a parade or used for belt power; it is complete with all correct parts. Steel wheels may have lugs removed or replaced with rubber cleats or flatten tread.

Condition or Grade 3
A tractor that is functional or restorable; it runs, but it needs restorations or replacement parts and cosmetics to a fine operating and eye-appealing condition

Condition or Grade 4
A tractor that may or may not be functional; it is weathered, wrecked, incomplete, or greatly deteriorated, rusty, or stripped to the point of being useful for parts only.
