Hearing the Shotgun blast of Dove Hunters brought me back to my youth. Dove hunting in Joppa Texas (http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=25988&highlight=joppa) with my friend Mike Knox; his grandfather bought the first tractor in northern Burnet County in 1935; it was a Case Model RC on steel.
The Tractor had been parked since the late 1950’s, but grandfather seal engine from water and always turned it over each month to keep it from seizing. It would have taken a few hours to get it running again.
No one was allowed to start that tractor! The last time the tractor was used it crippled Mike’s uncle David. In some freak accident David fail or was thrown off of it and crushed one side of his pelvis and upper thigh bone.
After accident Mike’s grandfather parked it and never used it again. We were not ever allowed to touch it, and nobody for sure should ever sit on it. Mike’s grandfather treated it like it was cursed. The tractor was sold after both of his grandparents died.
