Hello everyone, this is my first post and am happy to be here. I have a question concerning a quoate I just received. It was for a M6800 with 4WD canopy and only 21 hrs. Quote was 25,250.00. Said this was a trade in from a guy who quickliy decided he wanted a cab and air(can't blame him). After speaking with another dealer who gave me a quote I told him about this tractor and he told me rentals are sometimes sold for almost new when they are actually very used and cleaned up. I think it would be very hard to clean up a tractor with alot of hrs on it. I would hate to think this is a common practice. Is this a common practice and is there any way I could tell. This is an over the phone deal with alot of trust involved because this tractor is almost 4000.00 more in FL. I don't like going that far to buy but 4000.00 is alot of money to me. Thanks again for any help you can give.

:Welcome1: Twilli first off, glad you found us and happy to have ya here. Secondley I'm not familiar enough with the particular Kubota you're looking at to say if the price is on the money or not. My SIL has a 2230 but is smaller compared to what you want. I can't see where a dealer could or would try to sell a "rental" as you were told for like new and try to cover anything up as most every tractor has an hour meter on it and yes it could be replaced with another one, but unlikely a dealer is going to take that chance at getting caught with consumer fraud.
Anyway good luck in your quest and again wanted say howdy and welcome aboard :fing32:

Thanks Jim, That is my way of thinking . I don't know how one would prove it, but if proven the bad press would be , well bad. This is obviously a good enough deal to get a response from another dealer, which suggested a disconected hr. meter.

Of course the one dealer would say something to sour the deal of another one...Especially one that is out of state.
That being said...the other side of the coin is "buyer beware"..I would certainly go have a look at this unit before I wired any money.
Very glad to have you here.
If you have the serial number of the tractor, the Dealer should be able to get you a print out from Kubota showing the original sales date, and any warranty repairs done.
With this you will be able to see if what the seller is saying is true. The warranty repairs usually have the hour meter reading at the time of failure. is it more than the tractor has on it now?
