My JD 2210, attachments, and the loft I built last summer.

Sure wish everything was still that clean. :o

Well now all you need is a backhoe only problem is the aftermarket backhoe for the 2210 means you can't leave the mowing deck on at the same time.

The 2210 has a 2-piece frame, so it's not ideal for a backhoe. Don't need one but would like to have one! :D

MoeHoward,

How do you like that LX-4 (I'm assuming that's what you have) on the 2210? Any issues with it (lift height, cutting in heavy wet grass etc)?

Cheers

The LX-4 is great. No issues yet, other than the lift height bolts where in the wrong position for a smaller tractor when if was delivered. It handles everything just fine. I don't have my manual to see what the minimum dia growth it will handle, but it has handled small Cedar trees ok.

The lift height is fine when I cross a small creek.

Here's a link to my Home made ballast that I made for under $10. It doubles as a small roller. It is reinforced with rebar which is not mentioned on my webpage. Double click and image to enlarge, or hit the slideshow start button.

BTW, Welcome to the forum, JDFANATIC. Nice to get another 2210 owner here. :)

MowHoward,

Thanks for the welcome. BTW, that's a clever way of adding weight...and we all know the 2210 needs lots of weight! I also see you have wheel weights. My previous tractor/loader combination was a 755 and I never had to use the ballast box with it. When I got the 2210 (I have the 53" bucket) I almost tipped it over with a full bucket of topsoil. Now I was on a slope and turning, but the 755 would never have done this. Anyway, I had the rear tires loaded with RimGuard (about 120# each) and find this is good for light work, but when I really give the tractor a workout I put the ballast box full of concrete on.

Amazing what these little tractors can do. Besides almost tipping over. :D

I like that weight /roller also. Does it roll easily? It doesn't really have any bearings so what is turning-the shaft in the lower links or the swivel ends of the lower links?

:Welcome:

Welcome to MTF DJL2210!

The "axle" is a 3pt hitch spacer attached through the lower links and swivel ends. It pretty much stays stationary. The roller has a piece of 7/8" conduit embedded in the concrete lengthwise. The conduit and roller rotate while the greased axle stays stationary. It rolls just fine.

The reason for the duct tape is to prevent the 90's or edges of the concrete from rounding off over time.

DJL2210,

Just funnin :smilie_fl . I also noticed in your last GW post you were expecting the 70's this weekend. Send some warm weather our way. Reluctantly I took the MMM off today in anticipation of the 4-8" snowfall predicted, but I am refusing to put the blower back on. If the FEL can't cut it, then I'm just going to hybernate until spring!

Cheers

I think the woods unit thats available for the 2210 will be excellent on your machine with no worries because its a subframe mount and designed to fit that machine

Mow, I love the loft and all the green equipment! Wish I had a mower like that for mine. I bought an old rusty pull behind hog for the Farmall at an auction that is too big for the 2210 (6 ft), but someone on TBN suggested I just use smaller blades... Duh :bonk: I hadnt thought of that.... I figure I'll have to make them anyway, so I'll make two sets, one of the 2210 and one for the Farmall. I hope it does a decent job. It sounds like you like yours. Dont worry about them staying that clean, they look fine with a little character too:)

A lot of people claim a 5' RC is too big for the 2210. The LX4 seems just right for the 2210. The only drawback is the extra time it takes to cut with the small width, and making sure you overlap your cutting path just a little.

So if you have a lot to do, say 10+ acres, or so, I wouldn't bank on doing it one day. Still, it's geat how manueverable a 4 footer is, espeically in wooded boarders. And the small RC doesn't seem to stress the 2210.
