My wife and I are going to the tractor show in Big Rapids, Michigan tomorrow. This will be our first time at this show and only our 4th time showing.

Here is the old truck all ready to go.

If your going on Saturday and see these two little crawlers, stop and say "HI". I wouldn't mind putting a face to some these names on MTF. .. Ray

I was hoping you would post a picture of that truck. Looks like the J.D. really brought the rear end down. Those chrome wheels look good on there. You've added those since the last time I saw it haven't you?

With the JD weighing in at about 5500 pounds and sitting that far forward on the trailer, it almost sets the truck on the overload springs. ( lacks about 1/16 inch from touching ) .. Ray

Yup .. it's a 1945 JD Lindeman-BO.

This was at a farm auction in 1978. It was all torn apart and sitting on skids and in boxes. No one was much interested in it so I ended up with it. I adapted the loader to it while putting it all back together. Used it for landscaping around the house and maintaining the driveway. Last used it in 2001 to backfill around the foundation on a new addition to the house.

We started showing it in 2003. It is unrestored. This is the way it has looked all the time I've had it. Most of the time it just sat in the garage.

The modifications I made to it way back then have caused some mixed feelings among the JD diehards. Most seem to like it but some most definitely do not like it because it isn't "original".

I figure it has been this way for so long that it's pointless to change it now.

My wife and I enjoy taking it to shows and that is more important than whether or not it's original. It is unique and it is fun to see how people react to it.

The other crawler is a 1949 Agricat. Powered by an 8 HP Wisconsin. Picked it up last summer and haven't had time to go thru it yet. (also don't have photos of it yet )

NICE TRUCK!!! :fing32: And nice Deere crawler. So what if it's not totally original, I'm guessing you originally got it to do work and it did what you needed. And the fact that it ain't rusting away in boxes is wonderful. Glad you put it back together and show it off.
