Ford 145

Looking at buying a 1983 Ford 145. Not really sure what it is or how much it is worth. Bought a house in a different state and lady wants to sell tractor also. Could use it if it is a good tractor. Could anyone tell me a little about the tractor. She says it has a 54" deck and has been used to mow only her property. Will get some pics next week. Thanks for any help on info and worth.

Without pics it's really hard to say what the value would be. Are you sure it's a 1983 LGT145? 1983 was the last year of the Jacobsen-built Fords, then Gilson took over. The 145 wasn't available with a 54" deck, 50" was the largest. Ford in the early 80's also had the 14 and 14D models, so it could be one of those too. I guess what I'm saying is: :wwp:

I will be going down to close on this house a week from today and will get pics then. But need to buy this thing at the closing if I want it. I have seen it one time and it look like it is great shape. Not perfect but really nice. She told me 1000.00 for the mower. She also said it was a 54" deck but could be a 50". The lady who owns it said it was a 145. Would there be a differance between a 145 and lgt 145.

Does it look like the one in my sig? If it does, then $1000.00 is too much. (Well, that didn't quite come out right. :duh:) If it's the same STYLE as mine, then unless it's in great shape with a lot of attachments or FEL, then I think it's overpriced. But that depends on exactly which model it is.
