I just purchased a Bolens made by MTD model #13AM762F76 from Lowes.
Ok I don't know if anyone knows or is allowed to tell me, but I'm looking for a way to "bypass" the blade kill when in reverse. I was able to do it on my dad's older model by adding a jumper wire but with newer mowers they run 2 things to the same switch.
Anyone have a clue how to bypass this. I'm tired of turning off the blade everytime I have to back up. Thanks :thanku:

:Welcome1: as far as bypassing the safety I haven't a clue nor do I think we're allowed to if I did!Have you checked to see if it has a built in manual override of the safety as I believe I have read here some brands do allow this.I agree with you having to turn the blades off to back up would be a real pain.Anyhow hang around and enjoy the place as you'll learn alot and have tons of fun here!! :fing32:

Hello,
I have one that I purchased from Lowes in May and if you start up the mower and then turn the key to the reverse option and press the triangle near the key the red light lights up and you then can cut in reverse. Once you are in that mode it will only stop if you shut off the mower. Of course you have to do this each time you start it up but that works well for me. I am guessing you knew this already and were looking for a better way to do it permanently.

Actually, I don't know think my Bolens MTD has that feature. I'll have to look at it closer to see if it does. If that is the case, that will work for me. Guess I should read that paper thingie that comes with it...lol Thanks

Nope, my tractor doesn't have that feature. I read the owners manual and I guess it's the next model up from mine. Man, I sure wished I had that feature. I'll figure out one way or another to by pass it.
It goes into a 4 way plug. Black wires that are colored coded. I think if I cut one set and connect them together it will not "kill" the motor. Or it will not start at all...lol

That sounds like what's on my dad's Cub Cadet, that he bought at Lowes last year.
