I am hoping to do an engine swap on a model 3016HR. Has anyone attempted replacing the Briggs 402707 with anything that has the same crank specs. Like a Kohler Command Cv15T? And am I correct in stating the Briggs crank specs as 1"x3-5/32"?
I know the bolt pattern won't be the same, and the kohler is a recoil start. As long as I could get the battery charging and power for the electric PTO, what else do I need? I got this machine for free... I now think I now know why. The only bolt on compatible engine is the 461707 20 HP for $900.
Any ideas? Anyone ever try something this wacky?
Maybe I should part it out on eBay
