As the topic states I am done with Cub Cadet.
Today the Cub went back and will never return. After digging a ditch maybe 30'
by 4' deep I heard a clunking sound. When I realized that the rear end housing
was about ready to fall off from the "truck frame" that was the last straw.
As good as my dealer has been (and he has!) there is only so much a dealer
can do with a defective product. This tractor should have NEVER been mated
to a backhoe or a front end loader. Once they got my backhoe working correctly
it was too much for the machine to handle.
So hopefully I have learned something from this painful experiance and I will
do LOTS more reasearch in the future.
Right now I am looking at an 06 Deere 90 Series (790) with FEL, Backhoe and
a rear mower. Full cast iron, no hydro, real 4WD and the price is way less than
I expected.
It's been nice hanging here and venting, I sure hope none of you experiance
what I have went through. I have never made a worse purchase in my life
and considering I paid the price of a new sedan I should have NEVER had to
put up with what I have went through.
Take care all!

Brett--i feel for you--no, that's wrong, I didn't belly-up the $$$, :fing20: but I , and many others here have followed your experiences--and a lot of outside users /consumers learned from your experience....
and that is what the MTF is all about, at least as long as I've been here----Your pain is someone's else's gain....... :fing32: and I (we thank you....)
****
You will find exactly what you need.....

Sorry to hear Brett, but understand your frustration, please don't be a stranger here at MTF, and let us know how the search goes and what you finally decide on, we would like to share in your experience with a new machine too :fing32:

You are doing the right thing - I would do the same....We will all like to see the Deere when you get it - we want to you to be happy.....I hope you get a refund in full from Cub.....unbelieveable ordeal you suffered
With what you have been through I would be seeing red. I don't understand what happened. If the equipment is designed correctly it should be able to handle the attachments.
On another site I read a posting that a New Holland TC 24 broke in half using the FEL. I guess that it can happen to all of them. Something just goes wrong in the manufacturing. But I can understand that your faith in the Cubs is gone now.

I appreciate all the kind words!
I really wish the machine would have lived up to it's expecations. Like I said above the
last straw was after doing a small ditch and not in any way abusing the equipment (I
take pride in my gear especially when it costs as much as a new car) and then to have
the front end and back end of the tractor start to come loose that just flat out scared
me.
And I don't feel I should have to be afraid for my safety when using a piece of equipment
nor should I have to safety wire every nut and bolt on the machine.
I didn't even post about when the wheel fell off... And there were other issues as
well! I haven't been real vocal about the problems in the past few weeks. And it's
a shame my dealer had to go through this as well, I am sure we aren't parting on the
best company but at the end of the day I AM RIGHT and I have the right to be
satisfied and I wasn't...

Brett,
I do not know how you stayed as cool as you have. Trouble from the moment you got your Cub.Wonder if that machine was put together on a friday or a monday? My friend Bernie has a 790 with a hoe and fel,and he has had real good service from his tractor. Stay with us and show us the new machine and i pray you don't take any kind of hit on the "Lemon"!

Brett,I really hate to hear the Cub didn't work out, after all the problems you made us aware of and then to have more go wrong must really be disheartening.I'm with you, when items start coming apart that could jepordize operator safety it's time for the machine to go!Hope you have the best of luck with whatever brand you buy next. Also don't be so quick to say your leaving us as we're waiting to hear how much you love the next tractor!! :goodl: :fing32:

Slip,
I didn't want to say anything till it was officially over and it is over as of today I have
all my cash back in hand and my Deere 425 back in the garage. Cub is taking the machine
back from the dealer, plus they are going to do a recall from what he said, on 6000
machines in the not too distant future (if what he said is factual) they (Cub) said to
him there are issues with the machine. I am not stating this as fact this is just what
I was told, for what it's worth and it may or may not be BS...

Brett
Just for giggles you should check out the Kubota.
When I was looking after my second Massy had the pickle I liked the way the Kubota back hoe hooked up better than the Deer.

Sorry I came across this thread so late. I am glad you were able to rid yourself of the cub.
So how is the Deere treating since you have had for over a month?

Wing,
Fantastic! But... The dealer experiance hasn't been perfect, the Cub dealer went out
of his way to try and make me happy it was just that the product couldn't do what it
was supposed to do.
The Deere on the other hand has done every single task I have thrown at it, and not
one piece has broken of fallen off. But I had it back at the dealership to adjust the
Rock Shaft Assist to lift the backhoe on the tractor (like it's supposed to) and I am not
real happy about what the dealer did to fix it... But, they did fix it (it was slightly out
of range and I was told it was due to the big tires I went with).
The rock shaft assist is the neatest thing since sliced bread! It lowers the hoe to the
ground or picks it up onto the tractor from the operators seat via the 3 point position
control.
Neat as all heck! :)
Honestly there isn't any comparison between this and the cub they wern't even on
the same planet let alone the same ballpark!
I have 43 hours on it already and it's been nothing short of an absoute dream machine!
