What's the Story with Jacobsen

A guy that I used to live down the street from in the 70s and 80s had a Jacobsen Garden tractor. I've never heard of or saw another one again-who knows what they were and what became of them? :thanku:

Jacobson made the Ford LGTs in the 70s
and 80s as well as there own. They were bought out by Homelite which was bought out by John Deere.

In the 60's and 70's Jacobsen was a builder for various companies like Ford, MM,
and Oliver... including their own brand...Jacobsen Chief and Super Chief. Many of the models parts are interchangable across brands.
Ransomes Jacobsen is still a manufacturer today of a commercial line of equipment for golf courses and grounds keeping. I believe the residential line ended around 1980. Parts are not available from Jacobsen.
