Just need some opinion and facts about the ht 3810. Dont know what year it is but looks like its in good condition. Are they good machines? what motor do they have? I know nothing about them, hopefully someone here can clue me in on them. I just need a good riding mower. THanks

I believe the ht3810 is a 10 HP air cooled single cylinder engine, with a 38" mowing deck. Honda built some tough lawn tractors, but the parts are a bit pricey when something does break. I like all things with Honda power.

Hope this observations on the 3810 help. I just traded mine in after 22 years of use on a new JD X304. I did this not because the Honda was not reliable, but because my needs for a lawn tractor had changed as well a my landscape which required a more maneuverable tractor.
I bought my Honda 3810 from new and have never had any major repairs required, about the only thing I can think of is the PTO cable breaking after 21 years. Parts were becoming a little hard to get , and pricey at times.
You can get them through Plano Power Equipment and can be ordered online, if an local source is not avail.
If I can be of any help please PM me and I will try to answer your questions, its a very good tractor.

Regarding the ht3810, I too have had mine for 22 years and am thinking of getting a jd x320 to replace it. The deere dealer would only give me $50 in trade - am wondering if it is worth trying to sell it on my own - am in southern vt.

Fifty bucks? For that amount of money, you should keep it. Either sell it locally and ask $500.00 or best offer ...... or part it out on e-Bay. You can always come down in price.... you just can't go up.

I have a 3810 that I bought new back in the early 80's when they first came out. It's still a great machine today and I have the 2-stage blower for it as well.

Like some of the other posts have stated, it is a good unit. Parts are getting difficult and the prices will shock you.

Sold the Honda for $50, got a call too late for $300. Got a new x320 and it seems great for 2+ acres. Cut the mowing time by .33 and uses less gas. Could not adjust the front leveling screws - too tight. It seems about .25 in higher than rear level pts. Looks like it may be hard to get the filter off after 8 hrs - any suggestions on that or front level screws?
