This battle has been ongoing for quite a few years. It's great when it is running and to tell the truth that is 95% of the time. When it breaks, it is worse than working on a Honda car, same stuff on both just a lot less room on the tractor.

What a little rugged beast it is, 4WD with 4WS/AW. Eleven horse single and never a lack of power. Smallish 46" MMM but the cut is pretty good. Mowing speed is 4 to 5 mph and the ride is, well rough. This is a GT and built and rides like one.

MMM takes 15 minutes if you know what you are doing. The 46" blower takes less time as there is no belt and associated brackets, it attaches directly to the forward 540 PTO. Aft 540 PTO is for tiller, etc.

I just was appointed to maintain the RT5000 that is owned by my son's baseball association. Seems to have years of neglect and unscheduled maintenance. Purchased a new battery and spark plug and immediately fired. Filled with fresh gas and after 2-3 hours of use started cutting off. Seems to be electrical related as will not turn over now. My experience with similar symptoms is that the alternator is not charging battery back. Can't find an alternator. HELP!

Change the oil and pour some carb. cleaner into the gas tank. Check and clean the air filter, the foam pre-filter needs a little oil. Inspect the glass sediment bowl.

Parts are pricey so you need to really check out any questionable fault and proove it true before you go out and buy parts.

Check out any Honda Power dealer and ask for parts. Cicero Outdoor Power Honda dealer (315) 699-2838.
