do any of you guys own older toros? last night i picked up an old 950 it has a kohler with the starter\generator setup. ill post the #s and hopefully a pic later today. i did pretty good on this one as i traded a old ariens RER that i got for free last week. the toro has been sitting for awhile and i have a running bet (30 pack of bud) with the previous owner who says it will never run again. we are supposed to get it running tonight and im going to drive it to his house to pick up the beer. ROF bernie.

Isn't the 950 a RER with about a 30 inch deck?

Dirtybernie, aren't you Fordman1 over at GW?
This "950" you have. Does it have 4 lug 15" wheels on the rear? Does it have a heavy cast iron grill shell? Does it have a hydraulic lift? Is the gas tank accessable by removing the seat bottom? If so, you have a Wheel Horse 953. The 9 is for the 9hp Kohler, the 5 is for electric start, and the 3 is for the manufactoring year 1963.
If you in fact have a WH 953, I'll be right over with my trailer! :) It's a very collectible model WH.
(If it is a 953, and it has the headlight lenses, they are worth their weight in gold!)
My brother has a WH 953. I have *NO* knowledge of the actual "Toro" brand line, so if there is an actual Toro 950, just ignore the above. :)

If you do anything with that Ford you posted over at GW, let us know. I'm kinda interested in that one! :)

oh dont worry. ive yet to pick it up but next weekends festivetys include driving to nj to get it. i plan on doing a resto on it posting pics of the proggress. i also am the proud owner of a 1969 ford 120 that i just got running fri night. while it also needs a complete resto its good enough to drive around the property for now. i needed the toro like i need another kid but between the good running kohler and the $0 price tag i just had to have it! bernie. :trink39:

FREE is ALWAYS good!!!! I'll take free stuff I don't even want so the next time that guy will call me with more free stuff. And I can always trade my unwanted free stuff for other stuff. :fing32:
