My newest aquisition is a single bottom trailer plow with steel wheels...I'm told by one old fella that used to operate one that it is a John Deere plow made in the 1930's. I have some pictures to post later.

Argee. I know this thing has been built up to where you're probably afraid to post any pics, however, I for one would like to see it.
P.S. take lots of profile shots, so I can make one.

It needs some welding on the moldboard. Mechanically it's very sound. The previous owner kept it greased so it's operable. Just needs a few springs and the squeeze handles repaired.

I just picked up an old JD 2 row corn planter that I plan to restore this winter.

Wow! Randy, that's a sturdy piece of equipment. A little out of my eyeball design realm, but thanks for posting the pics. They have been archived for future reference. Do you know the build date?

Best guestimate is sometime in the 1930's!

Nice plow! Once you get the levers set right for individual wheel depth it will plow up a storm. I really think the trailing plows work better than the 3 pts. Maybe it is just fond memories from my time learning how to operate them. :woohoo1:
