I just brought home a Honda RT5000, so now you will not be the only one.
I am really impressed with this little tractor so far, I can only imagine how useful it will become. I have to get my tiller going tom so I can till the garden(it is a self power sears tiller, not a honda) then I can really play around with the tractor.
Anyone know of any problem areas that I should check? Any hints or tips about this tractor?
Thanks
Stephen

Have to say that Honda is the BOMB, really surprised that don't see more of them. Is it 4 wheel drive? Very nice looking machine and a wheelhorse too! Have to let us know how they compare. Enjoy! :thThumbsU :rauch10: Mike

Stephen,
Welcome to the site. You are now the owner of one of the garden tractor wonder machines. Expensive when new and they seem to hold a pretty good value on the re-sale market. Download the tractor manual below and lube/grease as directed. There is no manual for the mower deck, but if you need one I can scan and email. So far, any Honda Power dealer can get parts.
Download manuals from below:

Parts available from below:
http://www.planopower.com/store/honda/rt5000a.shtml
Attachments for sale below:

Good luck.

Thanks all for the responses. I usually have the morning to loook around the web, and also do a little work. I might have to turn off email responses to get something done....
The tractor is 11hp, 4 wheel drive, 4 wheel steering, came with a 46" deck, front hitch, snowplow, chains, and OH YEAH all of the manuals and the original bill of sale. The man I bought it from was the original owner and bought it new old stock in 1990. He paid $5200 for the tractor, and $823.95 for the deck, before the taxes. He bought the snow plow, front hitch and chains later(no prices for them). I have to say quite a lot of money for an 11hp tractor, until I drove it around. It has no want for power.
I have the original sales brochure for the tractor as well, if anyone would like a scan, I can get it scanned in and send it to you.
Thats all for now. I can't wait to go out and play later tonight.

Nice! :thThumbsU
hmmmm. i might have to take a ride to steves place and "test drive" that baby! :bannana:
They really are a nice looking machine aren't they?
People get so tied up with HP ratings. Just don't realize that HP doesn't mean anything when pulling a load. It is how much power goes to the ground.
The power driven stuff, most of it doesn't use 10 HP to run and do their job. That 4 wheel drive makes a big difference on pulling.
