Hey there, I need some help. I saw this little tractor for sale near where i work. The guy says that it is a 2 cylinder 4wd diesel, maybe early 80's. It comes with a 42" woods bushhog and a rotary tiller (with an extra set of blades). He wants $4000. for it but may "take a little less". My questions are 1: Is this a grey market tractor? 2: Can I get parts for it? 3: Is this a good deal or should I keep looking? I appreciate all of your help. Cheers, Bill :trink39:

Yes In my opinion it is way too much and even at half the price you are throwing away a big down payment on a brand new Kubota!!
Satoh tractors are made by Mitsubishi. Some people know Satoh tractors by the names Beaver and Bison. There are both gray market used Satoh tractors and domestic models. That makes some Satoh models easier to get parts for.

Yes, it is grey market. There are places to get parts for them and i'm thinking a Satoh is a rebadged mitsubishi i believe like Dean said. I also think satohs are a pretty small tractor. I wouldn't give that kind of money for it though.
I wouldn't give $4000.00 ,but maybe, since it is 4 wd with those attachments ...MAYBE... $3000.00 IF it had under 1000 hrs and EVERYTHING worked on it and was excellent condition. If it has been reconditioned then i would walk away from the deal as those tractors are usually junk with pretty paint jobs. Try to find out more about it if you can.

Welcome to MTF beerme!!
As the others say they are Mitsu tractors, and were a good tractor. Would I pay that much for one, na, not me. Are they worth it? I guess only the market would tell, but I would much rether see that price a grand less, if its clean.

Sounds kind of high especially when you figure out what they originally sold for new. I had looked at them when I was looking for a CUT, and they did impress me, and seemed to be built pretty darn tough, but 4 grand for a used approx 20 year old grey market of this size is way to much money.
