Well it's getting about time to get my latest purchase home. Haven't maped it out yet but am sure its close to 1200 miles round trip. Tractor is located in the south eastern part of NE. Would like to make it a 3 or 4 day trip. Would be exciting to stop in Omaha and visit the New Holland warehouse since I work for a dealer I could try to get a tour. Then there is the Omaha Zoo, I kinda like to go visit the monkeys (never know might find a lost relative lol). Seems to be lots one could do on a road trip like this one.

My other option is to find a piggy-back ride for it. Have a possibility to have it picked up and hauled cheaper than I could go get it. Lets see! Less money, no wear and tear on vehicle. No flat tires. I know the person that may haul it so I know it would be in good hands. Now the disadvantage's, the adventure of new territory, no tour of New Holland (would probably spend to much time with the monkeys anway), miss seeing the monkey's, tigers, and bears. Will have to wait and see, busy time of year so it's hard to get time off from work.

caseman-d, what are you hauling and which direction are you going with it? I am in SE NE. Maybe we could work something out.

Wow thats a tough one. Me and the wife used to make a lot of road trips for car parts, and always had a great time. Saw a lot of stuff we would have never seen before. So normaly I would say go. But that is a LONG way, and if you know the guy transporting it, and it is cheeper, I would have to go that way. Maybe he can lower the price if you meet him part way? That would be the best of bolth worlds.

a back haul would be cheaper but think of the adventure going to get it. mind you they likely have roads there.

thats kinda tough. but maybe just pay to have it hauled and do your trip later. i myself wouldnt want to miss out on the places mentioned but if you did it at a slower time of year im sure you would enjoy it more. + taking a car instead of truck+trailer would save a great amount of fuel. :fing32:

johneereL100,
The tractor is a Case SI, cute little thing. Only seen one picture of it so hope it's 1/2 as good as the picture. This guy is suppose to be in the area this weekend and he said if possible he would get it. Will see if it will work out.

I love road trips but with 2.25 gal fuel, 8 mpg empty or loaded gas takes a big chunck of change out of the pocket. As said above maybe make a road trip with more ecomicial vehicle. JohndeereL100 I will keep you in mind if I find something else down your way.

What are roads lol! The adventure would be nice and it would be new territory. Not sure why but I prefer to go north than south. Maybe thats because I know more people north and I can't fo to far north :):) (YET).

If you are going through Omaha, call the Claas plant and have them show you around. Amazing to think that some of the most advanced farm machinery is assembled 3 miles from home....
