I posted this on the "other" tractor forum, but wanted to hear from you guys also.
I am always removing my backhoe for different reasons, and am wondering if anyone has made/bought anything to sit it on that can be rolled around??
It would be nice to be able to roll it off to a corner or something.
Thanks
Don

could you get them four car dollies that each car wheel would sit on and then make some kind of wood or steel frame to sit on the dollies for your back hoe to fit on?

I saw this posted in another forum. It's a great example of a backhoe dolly.

Woah! I need to make one of those for my 'Hoe! Right now it's taking up a whole space
in the garage :)

I dig that dolly!

(And the backhoe that's sitting on the dolly ain't too shabby either!) :D

My book said to spread the arms out when disconecting... The first time I took it off I put in the corner of the shop all scrunched up... I had no problem... Just watch so it dosent fall over on you if you scrunch it up...

Mine is all scrunched up, and has not been a problem. I bought 2 furniture dollies from Harbor Freight, and it sits and rolls nicely. In fact I liked this so much I store my york rake, box scraper, and tiller on furniture dollies also. Makes them easier to attach and store.

I made a dolly for both the snow blade and the quick hitch for my tractor. Makes moving the stuff a snap in the off season. :greendr:

Looks a bit top heavy, be careful with that!

Maybe we should just put wheels on the hoe...

It's just plain heavy all way around :D
So much so that it would take more strength than I want to expend to tip it :D
It takes a good tug to get it going in any direction and I haven't been able to move it off it's perch yet.
I'm on my 3rd season with this setup and haven't had any troubles yet.
Course a concrete floor (or very hard & level wood floor) is a necessity for dollies.

I recommend to use dollies on any and all implements you have that is stowed inside. Having the ability to easily move heavy objects around, for whatever reasons that crop up, can't be over stated. They make mounting / dismounting easy also.

To keep the BH "scruntched" up when in stowage I stretch a bungie cord from one stablilizer pad to the other and this keeps everything nice and tight. Before the bungie cord, over time the rams would bleed down and before you know it you'll have to reconnect just to get 'em back up out of the way :D BTDT !

Timely subject, just this past weekend I dismounted the BH onto it's dollie and pushed it out of the way when I reconfig'd for finish mowing. Reconfiguring between TLB and finish mowing is so easy that I've been known to go back and forth a couple times over the course of a weekend :D
