folks, should I be concerned with an Onan?
All my other Cubs have Kohler or Briggs. Some say that the Onan is costly to repair.
Opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Randy

Cannt tell ya anything about the repair cost. But I will give props to the Onan.I am a steamfitter/pipewelder. Over the years I have used many portable welders with Onan engines. Logged 100s of hours on them.Startem in the morning and run em all day.Summer/winter didnt matter. Some ran on gas and some on propane.Cannt say I remember haveing much truoble with them at all. I wouldn't worry. Onan is out of business, but Linamar bought the designs and still manufactures some models, as well as parts. They are expensive to repair, but most last a very long time. It's not unusual for them to log 1500, 2000 hours which for an air cooled gasoline motor is a long time. Say 50 hours a year on a tractor, that's 30 to 40 years.....
