It seems like lots of people have done this and there are just as many ways to do it. I'd like to see your implementation. I like to weld, so mine are welded, although I think the no-weld ones are sometimes a little more clever. Here is one of mine :

Nice work, Kurt. I cheated and have a Bad River 3pt hitch adapter on my 2210.

Kurt -

That's the first time I've seen that particular hitch. Have you made that recently? I like the way you've made it so that the hitch ball is up and not down on the same level as the hole intended to hitch a regular garden cart to.

I don't have a hitch ball for my tractors and with my recent picture posting escapade, I'm not likely to be posting pics of any kind of balls in the near future. ROF ROF

You and Glenda have a nice day. I'll toss one for ya later today. :trink39:

Nice looking job Kurt :fing32:

HRGames has one he made for his in the Craftsman forum, he's getting signed on board with photobucket I think so he can post a better picture of it on the tractor :).

Ed,

Its the latest welding project I've completed for the tractors (besides the trailer). Remember that winch powered GT boom ple with the wheels on the bottom and the rather dangerous way the cable was run? I'm in the process of making that work on the 3pt too, without the flying winch cable :). I just havent had much time to work on my goofy ideas lately. I'll tell Glenda hi for you. She was concerned I wouldnt be able to hook up with you after your exodus from GW. I told he I thought I knew where to find you :).

While we're waiting for more, here is the trailer I use with it. War Eagle has a cool no-weld idea that goes on his sleeve hitch...

Kurt -

That's a nice trailer. What do you use that for primarily? I imagine you can use it to carry anything ya might need only taking into consideration the max weight the tractor can handle.

One thing you're going to find out on this forum is that many of the threads do not have a lot of follow ups because of the variety of category sections and the fact that some guys only respond to John Deere stuff or Craftsman stuff. Anyway, it is still a great place. I usually click on "New Posts" at the top of the page to see what's new and then go to "Active Topics" for all the posts made that day.

Jody, the wide tires and wheels are off a piggy back fork lift. Also I to drive a Dodge but it has the heavy duty engine, inline 6 with only 332,000, so I guess I'll get it broke in one of these days. ROF

Jody, I guess I slid that one past you! :00000060: I used the inline not slant to see if you would pick up the fact it was diesel. I still have my '86 4x4 Ford diesel with 950,000 on it and still runs good.

Chief,

Thats really cool. I suspect that top receiver is for a boom pole? I like that idea!

Ed,

I use the trailer for fence fixing materials. The horses break boards all the time. I have tools, a car battery and an inverter and the sawsall on there along with some 2X6 lumber and lag bolts. I drive around and fix all the boards about once a week. I have a generator that I need to fix and that will replace the battery/inverter deal. Then I'll be able to weld too!

Here is a picture of the 3pt version I made. If has a hook in the back now for a nice place to attach a chain to keep it from lifting that isnt in the picture.

I have one for the sleeve hitch too, but it isnt very interesting and I posted it in another thread.

I found this ball hitch adapter on a site that is specific to Wheel Horse hitches. It slides over the drawbar and pins in the std pin hole. I pull my 6x12 trailer with it.

For moving and spotting carts and trailers, I like the hitch on the front of the tractor.

Being lazy, I don't like to get off the tractor. Under, up, and away using the tractor lift.

volfandt,

That WH is beautiful! Most GTs today wouldnt be able to take a hitch design like that on their drawbar without bending. No problem with the WH.

Dutch,

Now there is something you dont see every day. Innovative and out of the box thinking. That is really interesting and would be a breeze to use. Never seen one like that before.

I welded up a mini reciever for one of the GTs, it takes a ball, a clevis and a couple other bits and bobs

Volfandt, I like the look of those slide on balls, looks good. At some stage in the past a extra bit of hitch has been welded ontop of the clevis on mine, does the trick nicely

I think I might stop talking about balls now, sounds kinda dodgey :o
