is this ringworm?

my dog was outside all day today.. and i was checking him for ticks..

he has these little rings on his back legs and his groin...


has anybody had a dog with ringworm?

John that is hard to tell but I am incline to think it might be a mosquito bite, I would reccommend a trip to the vet to double check and if is ringworm they have excellent treatments that work quickly and effectively. If it was me I would take him to the vet and have him looked at.

Yes and might be , if this is the first day you have seen it , a bit too early to tell, it could be one of a zillion bites from most any thing, since this is the weekend by Tuesday if it has stayed about the same and is rough and somewhat scaley on the ring part I would say it probably is and as Michael said it is easily treatable!!

I would watch it for deterioration in the center as some spider bites start like that and go south quickly , Recluse Spiders I have experience with also and "It ain't Funny" as Mr. Mercer likes to say!!

i gave him a half a benedryl in case its some sort of a bite.. and ill keep an eye on it..

BTW, how has the older dog adjusted the new pup?

she still hates him.. but he's bigger han her now.. she ignores him and only spends time with him when she is snaring/growling at him..

he'ss still a pup 11 months and only wants to play with her or use her as a pillow.. she tolerates him sleeping near/on her.. but overall..
she'd be happy if he were gone..


she will be 11 years old in 1.5 weeks for her birthday.. i think ill board the pup and let her have a day of peace..ROF

problem is.. it would be a cruel joke on her when we brought him back home..

Anyone can own a Tractor but you can never OWN a Friend especially the canine versions, honor them and give them their due!:trink39:

Rub your nose on it and it show up on your face in a couple of days, you will know its ringworm! lol

I would rub some Lotrimin AT on it and see it clears up.
