They are "cousins" after all. And alot of the info relates to the other. Not to mention alot of folks save money by buying Sears attachments...just a thought.

There you go thinking again. ROF
I'd say it's worth keeping them apart for now. There is a separate category in this forum to discuss attachments, etc. and the cross-over between Craftsman and Husqvarna could be handled there.
Glad you came over.

I think there are enough differences to keep them apart for now. Husqvarna's from dealers have different engines than craftsman or at least they used to. I haven't really looked into the '05 line up.
Besides, it's a nice feeling to see your brand listed by itself! It may attract more members also.

Apart is OK, but I am sure glad DYT4000 posted a link to this forum over in the Craftsman forum regarding Topdj's talent... I may have never seen it otherwise!
Others who own sister tractors made by AYP may want to post in both forums if the subject matter could apply other AYP brands.
Does anyone know what the Husqvarna model equivalent to the GT5000 Craftsman is?

I have a GT2548 With a 25hp Kawasaki. I don't think the Craftsman GT 5000 comes with the Saki. eng. :dancingpa

If I remember right, we had talked about this back at the start. Decided to take the "Wait and see what happands" approch, if I remember right.

Think I'll change my name to "husky sears" and stay with the Craftsman forum. I see no difference in the tractors and it will make the Kawasaki guys feel even more elitist.LOL

You know, I hate to bump this year old thread again, but when you compare the activity in the Craftsman forum to that in the Husky area, it may actually be worth a serious thought...
When I do a search for something I'm interested in about my Husky, more often than not the answer winds up being in the Craftsman section.
It pains me to say that, since we all know my Husky is better than any Craftsman :bannana:

My nieghbor bought a Gt5000 I got the 2548 huski we both bought not knowing the other had been shoping for a mower . When I seen they were were exactlly identicle except for the motors I just wanted to take it back . Well the better half talked me out of it she liked it an i got it for her anyway she loves to mow . Well the nieigbors craftsman has fell apart piece by peice except for the motor . The Huskvarna has given no trouble except for one motor mount bolt an one bracket that cracked, an the Koler will smoke if shut off with the nose down hill .

I can't see them ever combining the two brands no matter how much alike they are. By having 2 different brands this allows companies to sell different brands. (Sears with Craftsman, Lowes with Husqvarna for example) This is similiar with MTD and the many brands they have while many of their mowers are very similiar to one another.

true but we have a combined MTD forum that handles all of the MTD products. yes there is a Cub and Bolens forum but those are for the pre MTD machines and the guys that dont realize their new machines are MTDs
Are yoiu saying there should be an AYP forum. just to group the common interests together.

Husq may not always manufacture Craftsman either. They could decide to change who manufactures them:
Leave it as is!

Ah I think I misunderstood the original post. I thought the question was should the two brands be combined instead of the two forums be combined.

Husqvarna company is getting bigger and bigger and they do a lot for themselves which is a good thing. The less you source out to the job the better and it cuts costs in the long run. In my opinion seeing as how things are going right now, in the near future Husqvarna will be making tractors even more differently from Craftsman because Husqvarna will no longer manufacture Craftsman. Hence becoming a exclusive company and moving up the ladder. Combining both the brands would do more harm then good and employee cutbacks would be invovled. And let what happened to the Murray company be an example to other companies still afloat, we don't want that to happen.

Yes it is, but with our economy in the crapper, I think all of us understands that all the American motor companies are hanging on a very thin thread, and one lil mistake will cause them to destroy themselves. As I see it, Husqvarna has been on top of the game this whole time, of course their Sweedish and thats whats great about them. :D
