I have a 1/4 - 1/2 acre to mow with about 8 trees and a whole bunch of plastic edged beds.Need a new mower! So I was looking at a Gravely mini- Zoom 1434 and 1534 (05 -06 mod.) I would like to mow and be done in no time. Are these units worth buying or is it stressed for long life use? Just about the time when I think I know what I want I get another country speak up.I was told the system that runs this little unit wont last past 5 yrs ? Then I got directed to a Simplicity RER .All about the same size motor /cut and price range. So now I need some input ,I just wanna cut and get it over with and crack a beer, but I dont want to buy a machine that is thirsty for big repairs in a few years.I would probably clock in about 45 mins per week mowing to get it done.My walk behind is gettin tired so I am wanting to move it up a notch to a cruiser .Thanks for any info I get .

I don't understand why someone told you they won't last past five years ?. I'd do some google searching and see what you can find out about these, sorry I can't offer much help :coffee:

Why would you want to buy a riding lawn mower as opposed to owning a real Zturn. It will last many years if you maintain it. 1534 is big enough for a half acre, like I said before built solid like a tank.

I think that looking at the Simplicity RER and the Gravely mini zoom is that the Simplicity Coronet has about a 4"-5" overhang to get over or past the plastic edging on the beds where as the mini zoom is flush to the cut ,if that makes any sense.I am thinking that the least trimming the better?Price is about the same,I have been told that the Simplicity is a very nice finish cut mower and turns tight as 12".I think I will just do a coin toss and see what happens and what each dealer will offer for a sale .Any input to this would help. Thanks
