this was emailed to me.. anyone have any suggestions??
Hello! My name is Don . I live in North Eastern Arizona, 15 miles out of Show Low, Arizona.
A couple of years ago I purchased "my toy". It is a 1957 Case 580 construction King Tractor. She sports a front loader and a rear blade with rippers. She runs sweet and purrs like a kitten! What a workhorse she is!
When I purchased her, the prior owner (who has since passed on) told me she had a problem and that I would have to every once in a while drain fluid from the rear drain on the transmission and pour it back into the front fill area near the shift lever. He told me that someone had put in a gasket backwards.
Every so often she will hardly move. The fluid level in the front seems to eventually drain to the rear, necessitating me to do the operation of draining some fluid and placing it back in the front. Once that is done she is ready to move again!
I love my old trackor and would love to be able to stop having to do the "oil transfer bit"! Can someone help me?
I have a parts manual but do not know how to proceed on my own!
Greatful for suggestions,
An old Ranch kid from Colorado,
Don
