I have been stuck in a hotel in Temecula, CA for 2 weeks on business. And ti has given me exposure to a lot of American TV that I never would have seen otherwise.
A neat little commercial came on for the DR Power Grader.
You boys ever seen these before? Any thoughts. BTW, you'll notice the bear linear actuator. I thought it looked slick. Post your opinions.

I got the free DVD for it, it's a pretty nice setup. Simple, but effective. It wouldn't work too well here, I have too many areas I need to backup into to grade, but it would something I would like to rent a couple times a year to grade the main drive.
Splicer, I think this might be just the ticket for your restoration work. Get out that checkbook!

Hmmm, a price of $900 with the discounts going on now, looks promising for someone who might have problems quite often with their road or what not, but I'd want to weigh the cost of it and a box blade first. :coffee:

Q: If my driveway isnt healthy to begin with, can the DRŪ POWER GRADER help?
If your driveway does not have proper drainage on the sides, you will need to use some other type of equipment to form drainage ditches. If your driveway does not have good top material to shed rain, you will need to import new material.
If you have the material spread when it is dumped, the DRŪ POWER GRADER will help you spread it evenly. With a little practice, if you have new material delivered, you can use the POWER GRADER to help give your roadway a proper crown. But once your driveway is healthy again, just a little, easy maintenance with the DRŪ POWER GRADER will keep your driveway smooth!

My thoughts exactly. :trink39:

I have the box blade. But given the size of the small lot I do at the company, I'm wondering if I can do it quicker and better with one of these.
One of my beefs with the box blade is that since I am using actuators, it does not float well. Mind you, I'd never go back to cranking that heavy sucker up with anything else.
Definitely looks like this things was never made to go backwards.

Please wait for a site operator to respond.
You are now chatting with 'Peter'
Peter: Welcome to our live chat service for DRŪ Power Equipment. How can I help you today?
Mark: I was just wondering what the total cost would be including shipping to area code 45107 for the power grader?
Mark: And could I send a money order?
Peter: The shipping cost will depend the choice between depot, home delivery or enhanced home delivery.
Peter: And yes you can send a money order.
Peter: I can check on a depot in Ohio to see if that works okay for you.
Mark: home delivery. what is enhanced?
Mark: depot would be cheapest absolutey
Peter: Enhanced home delivery is when the truck company unloads the unit onto the ground for you as opposed to you unloading it.
Mark: I unload their truck?
Mark: lol
Peter: The depots in Ohio are in Cincinnati, Richfield, or Columbus
Mark: I'm surprised insurance would allow that...lol
Mark: Cincinnati please
Peter: Well a drivers responsibility is typically to bring the unit to the back of the truck.
Peter: Okay let me total the cost for you.
Mark: I'll stick with the depot
Mark: And how long would it take to be delivered?
Peter: The Power Grader to Cincinati would be $998.15.
Mark: and I p/u in cinti, correct?
Peter: It would ship in 6-9 business days and about another 3 days travel time from Vermont to Ohio.
Peter: Correct they would call you when it was there and help you load it when you picked it up.
Mark: Thats great! Thanks so much for your time...
Peter: Thank you and you are welcome.
Peter: Thanks for chatting. Before you leave, we would appreciate your answers to a quick survey. Youll see it pop up when you end the chat session. We hope to hear from you again soon.
Mark: I will probably be in touch not too far in the future...
Peter: Great, lets us know if we can help you.

I ought to check into getting a job there in the R&D dept. Looks like it might be a fun place to work, and that they are apparently always looking to make new toys....errrr tools.

A thousand bucks to ship to Cincinnati?! Or is that the total with shipping?

If you don't have a sleeve or 3 pt. hitch, it would be a good replacement for a box blade.
It should then work on almost anything that can pull it which could be anything from a RER to a utility vehicle to a golf cart.

That is the total amount, tax, title and license...I'm thinking pretty damn hard on it right now...I gotta come up with the cash though.
It looks like a nice, and handy, little machine.
It would be good for maintaining.
It would be better for leveling than a box blade.
Costs more than a box blade.

It looks like a nice piece of equipment. The only real down side is the overall length of 102 inches. Just make sure you have room to back it around at the ends of the drive or any area to be leveled. jmo

From the experience a friend had sevreal yrs back, DR is a decent Co. He bought one of their self powered haulers. A couple days after receiving it he received a call from DR asking it the product had arrived and was everything OK.
You don't see things like that too often today.

That's a pretty nice rig but pretty limited to roadwork. I think the attachments below are a lot more versatile and a little less money.
You can look at their entire line here (http://www.worksaver.com/product/is-pull.html).

Argee, I think that's the first time I've seen the Worksaver produst line. Cool stuff!
They have a nice product line. Quite a varity too! Now I will have to find the guy that posted about a small rear grader for his tractor and point him to this post.
Maybe the most appealing blurb on the DR Web site:
Why not try out the DRŪ POWER GRADER on our 6-Month Risk-Free Trial?
That gives you six months to use it on your property and decide whether or not you like it. If it's not everything you expect just let us know. We'll pick up the machine and you'll get a prompt, no-hassle refund of your full purchase price, including shipping and handling, both ways (within the 48 contiguous United State and Canada)!

Work Saver makes decent equipment at a reasonable price. Thats where I got my quick hitch for my Cat 1 3PH. Extremely well built equipment. I looked at their other stuff while at their factory picking up my quick hitch. slkpk

Don`t forget their 6 month free trial, if it doesn`t work for you, return it for a full refund, in some cases including shipping charges. That should be listed on their web site or ask a sales rep. they are a good bunch to deal with, call anytime with a guestion. I`ve bought from them before and they were very helpful.

wow what do you guys do all day :fing20:
I'll be picking mine up tonight (DR power grader). Have a 1200+ft driveway and not enough $$ to buy a big tractor this year yet. I'll post pics and let everyone know what I think.
Got my Power Grader put together today. Only took about 15 minutes. Pretty nice piece of equipment from the looks of it. It will be charging overnight, so I'll try it out tomorrow. It has some power when it comes in, but they recommend charging it.
Here is mine put together with the hitch bar folded back for storage. Pretty decent/managable size when folded. The thing it STUPID heavy though. Hopefully it doesn't need much/any extra weight for grading.

You mentioned charging, does it have it's own power system?I just assumed it ran off the tow machine's power system. If self powered that makes it all the better. :fing32:

I believe there is a small deep cycle battery in the box to power the actuators (on the bottom left corner of that pic).
Cjax, can you make a point of taking before and after pictures of the area you will be grading. I'd love to see the real world results.
Congrats on the new toy.
Bill
SnowMower is right, it has it's own battery system. It has a remote box that has a line up to the driver so you can raise/lower it on the go.
I will take some pics of both the drive and area I plan to rough up before seeding for grass. Hope to do the seeding this weekend. Probably work on the drive next week. Have to get some mowing done tonight.

Did it come with the free drag screen? The website says it comes with free drag sreen( a $109.00 value). Also, is the battery replaceable?
It looks great!
Yes, it did come with the free drag screen. It has pre-drilled holes on the back of the grader to connect the screen with the supplied d-rings. Pretty nice set up. Migh tneed to add a little weight to the screen, but not too sure yet. I'll have to see how it works as is to start.

Mid-August is one of the worst times to be re-seeding a cool season lawn.
You'll have much better results if you wait a month until the temps drop a bit.
